BUKIT AMAN, KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA
28 September - 10.00 a.m
DATUK AZMAN handed the report together with personal details of the two men shot dead at the Petronas Twin Tower to Tan Sri Supian at his office. They both scrutinized the personal details on the two men. They would hand over their results to the Home Minister, before extending it to the Prime Minister.
"Our computer experts were able to match the identities through their finger prints, Tan Sri," Datuk Azman said.
"Hmm... Abu Hasdal and Abdul Ghari..." Tan Sri Supian looked serious. "It's true they are foreigners, then." he continued.
"They came to Malaysia not as employees. But... as tourists," Datuk Azman explained based on the fact in the report.
For a while, Tan Sri Supian remained silent.
"Tan Sri..." Datuk Azman interrupted.
"Oh, yes... what about the other tourist?" Tan Sri Supian asked.
"Undetected, Tan Sri," Datuk Azman replied.
Tan Sri Supian bit his lip. His face strained.
It's like this, Sir... I suspect the guy wasn't a tourist. True he was taken to HKL for medical attention. But a nurse had made a report to one of our officers who were there on duty. According to her, one male foreigner, suddenly entered the male ward. Then he went to the gents and disappeared," Datuk Azman explained.
"Hmm..." Tan Sri Supian nodded. "Seemed that... the man isn't just a tourist. He's more than that."
"According to the hostages, the man fought with the two who were shot dead. In fact, he shot one of them on the shoulder. He was nearly shot himself. Fortunately, ASP Hilman came right on time," Datuk Azman narrated.
"The problem now is... who was he? And where is he now?" quizzed Datuk Azman.
Tan Sri Supian was quiet.
"M.I.A should be able to solve that problem," Tan Sri Supian said.
A few knocks on the door interrupted their conversation.
"Come in!" Tan Sri Supian half shouted.
"Good morning, Tan Sri... Datuk."
An officer with the rank of ASP from the computer department entered and saluted. He handed a piece of report to Tan Sri Supian. Tan Sri Supian read the report. His eyes wide. He glanced briefly at Datuk Azman before turning to the officer, sighing. Then he passed the report to Datuk Azman.
"You can't find it?" Tan Sri Supian frowned.
"We're able to match the fingerprints from the two guns found at the place of incident. We've identified the two prints but not the other one. No information on that one, Tan Sri," the officer reported.
Tan Sri Supian nodded.
"Thank you," he said.
The officer quickly left the office of the Chief of Police.
"Tan Sri... how soon would M.I.A take to process this?" Datuk Azman could not withhold his curiosity.
"Hmm... 12 hours," replied Tan Sri Supian. He let out a grunt. "He's a genius."
"Who? That guy?" asked Datuk Azman.
Tan Sri Supian nodded.
"M.I.A will get him, Datuk. I'm very sure. Absolutely sure," Tan Sri Supian said.
