~Chapter Eighteen~

Everyone manages to get to a nearby cabin after about three hours of walking. Suddenly, KB feels a slight tap on his shoulder and he quickly turns around to be met by a girl..? He didn't know, he was a bit weary.

"Hello! I'm Cyber." the person introduced. KB sleepily nods and shakes her hand. Cyber, seeing that KB is tired as fuck, leads him to QT so he can lay down.

Cyber then decides to introduce themselves to the others, so as not to be called a threat.

*after introductions*

After introducing herself, she decides to hang out next to QT, as that was who she first introduced herself to.

"So..he's your protector?" she asks. QT nods. "Yeah. But sometimes, I worry about him.." she says as she caresses KB's hair.

"Why do you worry about him?" asks Carol as she suddenly joins in. "Because he's so focused on saving and protecting me, that he barely cares about himself." explains QT.

"Oh.." say Carol and Cyber sadly as they glance at a tired KB. QT sighs and lays her head on KB's chest.

"So..he's so focused on his purpose to protect you, that he doesn't really care for himself." says Carol.

The next morning, everyone woke up bright and early to start on their journey. Well, that peace was soon interrupted by men kicking down the cabin door.

They were armed with guns, tazers, and machetes. Cyber gets the nearest weapon next to her and attacks. KB sleepily gets up and charges at one of the men, slicing them in half.

He sliced another man, but turned around when he saw one of the men had gotten to QT. "Sir! I got Experiment 110!" the man exclaims into his walkie-talkie.

KB tries to slice the man, but he dodges and shoots KB two times in the chest, causing him to glitch a bit.

His eyes started to change colors like haywire and then..slice. He killed the man, but afterwards, he collapsed. Blood was still spilling from his chest and QT became more than terrified.

"DOES ANYBODY HAVE BANDAGES?!" she screams in desperation. Kapi quickly takes his hoodie off and throws it to QT, who catches it and tries to seal up KB's wounds.

"Oh God.." mumbles Spirit as he looks at a now sobbing QT. He thought everyone else was thinking the same thing.

"Shit..will he be okay?" asks Plague to himself. Hex does a small scan on his body and turns to Plague, nodding.

"He'll be fine. He will have some chest pain, though." Plague takes a relieved sigh and walks over to QT, holding her in his lap.

"You know..something like this happened to me before.." he whispers. QT looks at him with tear-filled eyes. "R-really?" she says, sniffling.

"Yep! I was eight. And me and my mom were returning from the grocery store.."

*Flashback*

Pierce and his mom were walking down the street. They had just finished grocery shopping and were heading home.

Suddenly, they spotted a lady who was crying, and holding a sign that says 'Please give us money'.

"Honey," says Pierce's mom handing him $20, "Why don't you go and give the nice lady this money?" she asks.

Pierce nods and walks over to the lady, gently handing her the money. The lady  thanks him and gets up, but doesn't leave.

Pierce and his mom walk past the lady when his mom hears a gun load. She quickly turns around, but gets shot two times in the head.

The lady cackles and walks away, waving the 20 in her hand gleefully. Pierce kneels down to his dead mother and shakes her slightly.

"Mom..? Wake up! We have to get home!" he says, still shaking the corpse. "Mom...?" he then asks, a little teary.

*End of flashback*

"..And then I met Cherry and she let me live with her." explains Plague, trying not to cry.

QT hugs him and tries to stop herself from crying, but failed and both started crying their eyes out.

Winter walks over to him and cuddles him, Plague not letting go of QT. After calming down, Plague let's go of QT, but Winter didn't let go of Plague.

"Babe, I'm fine now." Plague whispers to Winter. "I don't care. I'm gonna cuddle you, whether you like it or not." Winter replies.

Everyone decides to stay a bit longer since it'll be a struggle to pull an unconscious KB through a forest.

*about six hours later*

QT was napping next to KB when she felt a small shock. She gets up and rubs her arm in pain.

She suddenly sees a twitching hand and gasps excitedly. KB wearily gets up and rubs his head.

He then glances around and his eyes land on a very happy QT, who tackles him into a hug.

"Heh! Hi QT!" he says in between laughs. QT hugs him even tighter, only to stop when he winces in pain.

"I thought we were gonna head out today..?" he asks QT, who shakes her head. "No. We decided to stay here until you woke up. Unfortunately, it's already night, so we can't head out now." says Lila.

KB tiredly sighs and lays back down. He then notices something wrapped around his upper ribcage area and unties it to see it's Kapi's jacket.

"Kapi? Why was your jacket wrapped around me?" he asks confusedly as he throws it aside. Kapi picks it up and ties it around his waist.

"Well, we needed to seal your wounds somehow. And since we didn't have bandages, we just used my hoodie." says Kapi.

KB nods and cuddles next to QT, happy that she's safe and happy that he's alive.
