~Twenty-Two~

The nine who managed to escape the sleep-gas thing started to run for their lives at the men started to shoot at them. After ducking into a nearby bush and watch the men drag their unconscious friends away, they were pissed beyond oblivion.

"They..hurt our friends..I SWEAR WHEN I FIND THEM, I'M GONNA-" yells Cyber, but gets interrupted by KB covering her mouth. "Shut up! As much as I agree with you..we are probably outnumbered, so we'll need to gather more people." he says.

"But who in their right mind would wanna help US?!" exclaims Plague in disbelief. Everyone fell into an eerie silence. "Well, maybe someone with a right sense of morality could..?" mutters Yukichi to himself. 

"What?" asks Wolfie as she turns to look at Yukichi, who sighs and turns away from her. The group emerge from the bushes and run off into the forest, trying to come up with a plan to save their friends. "Why can't KB just use his sawblades to get in and terminate everyone?" says Whitty as he rests his legs by a tree.

"Well, one, we don't know how strong the doors are, so I might not be able to cut through. Two, I might be outnumbered and who knows what weapons they could have on them. And three, even if we could break in and save everyone, my battery would've been all used up and I would've collapsed from exhaustion." says KB as he looks at his sawblades and sighs.

"Dammit. Well, how about we use someone as bait?" suggests Wolfie. "But who? Gold's already dead, Whitty would already try to attack them, same with Yukichi and Cyber, Lila would never see her child again, and Kapi will just dodge them considering he's very flexible." says Plague.

"But what about you? Couldn't you use your scythe?" asks Kapi. Plague shakes his head. "No. My scythe could easily be fractured and that could leave me more exposed to damage." Everyone groans. "Then what CAN we do?!" exclaims Gold out of frustration and confusion.

"Actually, the bait plan isn't a bad idea. I'd take the bullet, just tell QT that I love her." says KB. Everyone was shocked. KB was willing to risk his life to help their friends. Yukichi sighs and gets up, handing KB his gun.

"In case you need something to attack with in your final moments.." he mutters sadly as he then turns and sits back down.

"Hush up!" one of the guards screamed as they burned QT's fingers, causing her to scream and cry. Everyone was basically fearing for their lives. "What about our other friends? What is they got found too?" says Sarv as she clings onto Ruv, panicking.

Suddenly, the doors open and KB walks in, glaring at the guards with the gun pointed at them. The guards counter by bringing out guns and machetes. "DROP YOUR WEAPON!" they scream. "NOT IF YOU DON'T DROP YOURS!" KB yells back.

The guards then fire at KB, who dodges them well at first, but then lets his guard down and gets shot three times in the chest. He drops to the ground on one knee and groans, clutching his chest in pain as blood smears onto his hands.

He starts to tear up as he catches glimpses of his friends, who are about to break down in tears. He sighs, but gets alerted when he hears distant footsteps coming in. "KB!" Kapi screams as he runs in and kneels beside him, almost crying.

"Wow..I said I'd take a bullet for you guys. Guess..they..*small chuckle*..took that quite literally.." KB mutters sadly as he throws the gun to Kapi and falls to the floor, unconscious. Kapi gets up, anger fueling his body, and points the gun at the guards.

"YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID!" he screams as he shoots three guards dead from headshots. Suddenly, the remaining survivors burst in and basically, hell broke loose. There was blood everywhere and bodies went flying throughout the corridor.

After obliterating every guard in the corridor and freeing their friends, they immediately rush to KB, who is still unconscious. "KB..?" mumbles QT sadly as she holds his hand in hers. Suddenly, there was a sound of a cocking gun and QT turns around quickly to see one of the guards holding a shotgun to her head.

"Put the hand down, girl." he demands. QT, being scared and not wanting anybody to be killed again, drops KB's hand and she turns around and puts her hands up in fear. The guard laughs maliciously and decides to shoot KB in the head, to make sure he's 'dead'.

"KB!" QT screams as she kicks the guard in the shin and drops down to KB with watery eyes. She checks his battery display and sees he's at 18%. "Oh God..we need to treat his wounds, NOW!" she exclaims.

Kapi quickly takes his jacket off and throws it to QT, who wraps it around his head. She then picks up KB bridal-style and they all rush out of there.

They managed to find a small hospital that would, surprisingly, take them in. After getting KB a room, the nurse let them in. "So, he's doing well. But he's gonna have some chest and head pain. Also, that head bullet was near fatal. A little more to the right, and he would've been dead for sure." she says.

Everyone nods, relieved that KB was alive. QT was still a crying wreck, though, even though she heard that KB was alright. Kapi came over and pat her shoulder, trying to cheer her up. "Don't worry! He's gonna be fine!" he says.

QT looks at Kapi, still teary-eyed, then back to KB, who lay unconscious with bandages wrapped around his body that are stained with blood. She then sighs and asks for some alone time, which all the others nod and leave the room.

QT leans over KB's bed and holds his hand. "KB? I don't know if you can hear me, but, I really appreciate what you and the other survivors did. Even though there was a lot of blood, swearing, and bodies, you helped us escape! Let's hope they won't come back for a while. I- I brought Lucky! Maybe he can keep you company while you heal? Anyways, thank you for your brave sacrifice and hope you get healed soon." she says.

She places Lucky near KB's shoulder and sadly walked out, turning off the lights.
