"and the most beautiful part is that i wasn't even looking for you when I found you."
---As I look at myself in the mirror my hands started to get damped from sweating.
The audience behind the curtains was talking so loud that I couldn't even control the thoughts racing in my head.
This will be the first performance I have done since I was a kid. I am so nervous and scared but I know I will do good. The girls and I have been doing a great job at practice.
All of the girls are dressed in black ballet dresses. The costume is nice and there is some glitter on the tutu.
"Okay ladies. Gather." Ms. Primel said while clapping her hands. All of us girls gathered around Ms. Primel and there were also some boys from the gym here to participate in the performance. "Today is finally the day you guys get to perform. We have been practicing for weeks and days and hours and months and now it's time to finally show people what we all created." Ms. Primel stated. "Before we go out there I want to tell you all I am very proud of you. I may not show it but I am and no matter who gets these scholarships I am happy for all of you. Now let's get this show started."
All of the girls did a group hug before we position ourselves behind the curtain.
The people from the other side of the curtain start to quiet down until finally, the music starts. The music playing was Close by Nick Jonas but it has more of a violin base.
The curtain goes up and we are all still in our positions until the singing starts. All of us girls drift past one another as we move gracefully to the music. I close my eyes when doing twirls. The girls and I do leaps and jump around one another and some of the boys who were performing are holding onto the girl's waists and lifting them into the air.
We all weave, and twirl, and dart before finally, the music comes to a stop and all of us get onto our knees and look at the floor.
The crowds start clapping and we all lift our heads and gracefully walk off the stage and go backstage.
"Damn that was nerve-racking as hell," Claire said as she and I walked towards the dressing rooms.
Ms. Primel said that after that performance we all have to go to our rooms and she will go to each of our rooms to tell us about the performance and how well we did.
I am really hoping I get that tuition scholarship in London. I don't want to stay here in California anymore. Not after everything that happened.
Claire and I go our separate ways to our rooms.
While waiting in my room I am on my phone, looking through messages, mostly Grayson's.
He has been texting me stop, asking me to give him a chance to talk to him.
And I will.
But for now, I need to focus on this scholarship.
A knock on my door makes me look away from my phone. The door opens and Ms. Primel walks in.
She is holding envelopes in her hand and she has a straight face.
"Willow." Ms. Primel walks in and closes the door behind her. I stand up from my chair and stand in front of her. "You did an amazing job with the performance. I am very proud and I knew you would do great."
"Thank you Ms. Primel." I thanked her and she smiled at me.
"You did so well Willow that the school administrators in London decided to invite you to dance at their school." Ms. Primel hands me one of the envelopes and I feel myself smile. "Congratulations Willow. You deserve it."
Ms. primel gave me one last smile and she rubbed my shoulder before leaving the room.
I open the envelope and read the letter that was inside.
Congratulations,
You are invited to join us at the Ballet Academy in London. You will be boarding a plane, provided by us, in one week from today. We will be emailing you all the details and your plane ticket by tomorrow and your dance teacher will also be in contact with us and help you with whatever you need assistance with. We are so happy to have you.
I feel a smile lift on my face as I read the letter.
Finally a way out.
I put the letter back in the envelope at the same time the door to my room door opens. I look at who walked in and all of the butterflies in my stomach start fluttering again.
"Why are you here?" I asked as Grayson closed the door behind him.
"Because I had to watch you perform," Grayson said as he walked closer to me. "You did great." I backed away from him until I felt my back hit the wall. Grayson is now right in front of me, staring down at me with his lustful hazel eyes. Curse them. "Can we please talk?"
"I don't want to talk to you," I stated and looked up at him.
"Well too bad sweetheart because we have a shit ton of things to talk about."
"Look, Gray. I know you didn't have anything to do with Myles death-"
"Then why are you avoiding me?" Grayson cut me off.
"Because you knew my dead brother and didn't tell me. That pissed me off." I furrowed my eyebrows at him.
"Can I explain?" Grayson asked.
I push him away from me and get out from the space between the wall and him. "I don't want to think about it right now Grayson. For now, I kind of want to forget about it."
"Do you want to forget about me?" Grayson asked making me look back at him.
Of course, I don't want to forget about him but in everything that happened between us, there are still so much unresolved issues between us and our pasts. We don't work.
We both are complete opposites and we never will work because there is just too much about us that don't match in one another's world.
"Yea." I lied.
"Liar." Grayson grabbed me by my waist and pulled me closer to him so that our bodies were flushed against one another. "You want me but you're afraid."
"As if." I rolled my eyes.
One of Grayson's hands trails down my body and I feel goosebumps spread on my skin. His hand touches my hand and he brings it up to his lips and kisses my hand.
"Then tell me why I feel goosebumps on your skin." I don't say anything. Grayson leans closer to me to the point where I could feel his lips touch mine. "Tell me why your breath is now heavy instead of steady. I make her nervous as fuck sweetheart and you hate it."
"No," I said in a soft voice.
Grayson looks down at my lips before looking back up to meet my eyes. He leans in and then I feel his lips touch mine. My eyes flutter close and my arm immediately wraps around him and I pull him closer to me.
"If I don't make you feel all these things tell me why you're kissing me back with such fucking urgency Willow." I moan instead of saying anything. "Come back to my house with me. I'll explain everything. I'll even tell you what happened with Melody's mom." He offered.
I definitely want to know what happened with her.
Besides, I love him.
So of course I say, "Okay. I'll go with you."
This might be the last time we ever hang out again.
That is one of the reasons why I really did say yes.
