To become an initiate warrior, one only needed to sense the latent inner energy within their bodies. If a disciple succeeded to sense it, the inner energy would be awakened and would nourish their bodies in return. Basically, as long as a Martial disciple managed to sense it he would successfully become an initiate warrior.
If it was so simple, why did they even have to be trained and guided before attempting it?
Because before becoming a warrior, their bodies would not produce any inner energy except one of the most important organs in the body, the heart. Even so, the inner energy that the heart produced was too insignificant for most humans to feel and sense. This was the reason why ancient Martial Masters established training manuals to train the next generation.
With a stronger body the inner energy produced by the heart would also become stronger, and likewise with greater inner energy, the easier it was to be sensed.
But now the question became how someone could sense it if it was already strong enough to be felt?
There were many speculations about the origin of the Martial Path and even more about its legends. However, the ancient Martial Masters gathered all the reasonable stories and concluded that there was a story that had the greatest probability and truth.
It was said that in the ancient times before the Martial Path was found, there were some people that were fed-up with social life alongside other humans and chose to retire into the wilderness. They prefer living alongside nature, comprehending nature itself.
Some of them had strong, robust bodies while some of them did not. One day, one of them discovered the way of blending with nature... meditation, and thus the method of mediation was spread among them and became the essence for humans to understand and unite with nature.
The cycle went on, until a young man with a great physique found the inner energy when he was meditating, blending with nature. After that event, he became much stronger as he was able to fight against wild animals and match their superior strengths without the help of any armaments.
He became well-known for his feats and soon, the knowledge was spread. Dozens of years after that, the Martial Path was established and acknowledged by the Martial Practitioners. Hundreds or probably even thousands of years after that, the ancient Martial Masters emerged as the path broadened.
Hence, a disciple needed two things, a robust body, and proficiency in meditation. Unfortunately for Liu Guanyi, he did not have the time to train and with his untrained body, it was not likely he would be able to succeed if it were another person that was.
Because Liu Guanyi could do it even with an untrained body! With his past achievement, knowledge, and experience, he could achieve it albeit at a slight risk and cost. If this happened in his world he would undoubtedly be hailed as a prodigy!
As he sat down in meditation he focused his senses on his heart and his blood vessels that connected to it. He couldn't feel the flow of inner energy inside it at all. However, he didn't grow uneasy at all as if he had already predicted the outcome.
He tried to feel the sensations of all the blood vessels once again, both the arteries and veins. But this time it was not to feel the inner energy... rather he grasped them and pulled the blood flowing inside them toward his heart!
'Martial Technique: Blood Reversion!' Liu Guanyi said in his thought as all of his blood inside the arteries and veins magically returned to his heart for a moment.
The moment his blood filled his heart he could feel it, the inner energy! And the exact moment he felt it, he released his blood back to their pathways as he was forced to stop his meditation and puked a mouthful of blood.
"Kid, are you okay?" Headon dumbfoundedly asked him, seeing that he puked blood.
"Yea, never been better." He answered casually.
Indeed, he felt much better since he sensed the inner energy flowing in his heart. Even though it was minuscule, he could perceive that his body was strengthened at every second. But he knew it was merely the beginning and he would walk as far as before... no! He would walk further than before!
'In this new world full of opportunities and magical miracles, maybe I could find the path I have always been looking for!' Liu Guanyi thought with a smile.
Wielding his familiar power gave him the comfort and confidence to face any challenges he would meet in his journey even though he knew not of anything in this alien world.
Although it looked really dangerous, it seemed that this world was not unreasonably so since there was Headon, the guardian, and the others he said. As long as he stayed cautious and properly grew his power, he was sure he could come to the top!
'This kid... is truly interesting, he is not like them. He has something they do not.' Headon squinted his "eyes" as he felt the change in the young man. There was something that changed the young man, but he felt that it was different from Shinsu.
"Maybe you can pass this test, after all." Headon grinned, showing his sharp rows of teeth.
Liu Guanyi got up and started to warm up his body. If he wanted to survive, he could not afford to have his muscles and joints stiff like an ignorant person in the Martial Way in the upcoming fight. So he had to give his best, both before and in the battle.
He performed the basic forms beautifully, his punches and kicks were quick and precise without any wasted movements akin to an experienced artist drawing confidently on their canvas. After a few minutes, beads of sweat began to come from his pores. He started to move quicker as his body heated up, riding off the stiffness in his muscles and joints.
After some time, he stopped and tested his flexibility and core. He moved his head upside down and stood up only with his right hand. After a while, he quickly shifted to his left hand without any issue. He stood for a minute and finished it with a straight roll.
"What an incredible show! Now, you are certainly prepared for the test." Headon praised as he clapped his hands, though Liu Guanyi could feel that the guardian was a bit impatient with his behavior.
"Yes. I am, great guardian" He said with a little smile. He didn't know why but he felt much more energized after his warm-up. Maybe this was caused by the tower? he shook his head, it wasn't the time to ponder about it. Because... soon he would know the answer.
Just like what the humanoid rabbit said, everything was at the top. Liu Guanyi grinned as the giant entrance magically pulled up and he walked into the blue area with the monstrous eel.
Maybe... just maybe... in this place, he would truly find what he always sought in his previous life.
