He slumped and laid down on the concrete.

"It's all pitted against us isn't it?"

George was sprawled out on the concrete crying and talking to voices in his head.

He felt stupid.

"Ria, it's not pitted against us it's just-"

"It is Ella! It is!"

George rubbed his temples and sat back up leaning on a building.

"I agree with Ria. It's just pitted against us, I don't know who's doing this but I swear we'll be fine and we'll escape!"

Ella and Ria were silent.

"Let's just go back you crayon eater."

"Yeah let's just press the button and live with our lives the way we're supposed to."

George nodded bitterly and stood up.

He took a deep breath and ran towards the pier.

He ran and ran until he was there, at the big red button.

Typical right? A big red button that he has to press.

He shifted his weight from one leg to the other.

George pressed the button.

Wind glided throughout the entire dock.

The wind hit George, knocking him back.

His body went numb and he collapsed.
