Sweeter than a Victory "Lando Norris"

It's the last day of Landos first formula 1 season. He had done an amazing job this year and got some really good results. We were in Abu Dhabi for the last race. The last race happened to fall on the last weekend I'm allowed to travel before the twins are born. Being almost full term is a bit nerve wracking just because we are both very young with him just turning 20 and me not being 20 until February.

Qualifying had gone pretty well for Lando. He was starting P4 tomorrow for the race and he had a good chance of scoring really good points and possibly his first ever podium! It was Sunday and we were in the McLaren hospitality area. I was lying down on Landos bed in his drivers room because I have been having Braxton Hicks contractions for a while now and my back was also hurting. Lando was so sweet and was massaging my back even when I told him he had to focus on the race.

"Hey A?"

"What's up"

"We should probably start discussing baby names because these twins could be here any day now"

"True, maybe we can talk about it after the race. For all I know you'll want to name them mercedes and Ferrari."

"They'd be cool names though" he laughed as he kept massaging my back.

"Lando come on we have to get ready" Landos trainer Jon yelled at him. He got up and helped me sit up before giving me a long kiss.

"I love you A, if I don't see you before the race, love you to the moon and back my darling." He said as he kissed me on my cheek and two kisses on my stomach for the twins.

The race was about to start so I headed down to the garage in order to watch the race. I was excited but also nervous because I wanted him to be safe especially after Monza, I was already worrying more.

I sat down next to Charlotte as the five lights went out and they started to race. Lando got an amazing start and was up to P2 just behind Bottas. There was a safety car as Hamilton had collided with Alex Albon, but luckily they were both okay.

Lando was in such a good position now and I wanted to jump up and down but I knew that wouldn't be good for the babies. As the safety car came in Lando got a better launch than Lewis and they were neck and neck in the first corner. I couldn't watch. I was scared they'd crash. It was getting close to the end of the race but Lando had just passed Bottas who had an engine failure. Lando was P1! The safety car came out again as Bottas couldn't get back to the pits. The safety car was going to last the rest of the race so Lando won automatically! The whole garage started to cheer and jump. I had tears in my eyes because I was so happy, just as I was standing up to try and celebrate with everyone. I had a very bad contraction. I almost fell to the floor before Zak and Andreas caught me. They asked if I was alright but I felt terrible. As they lifted me up the worst thing that could happen happened, my water had broke and Lando didn't know.

LANDO POV

"Mate that's P1! Fantastic job" will said over the radio to Lando.

"Let's f***ing go! Woo!!" He cheered.

Lando was so happy and was doing all the cool down lap procedures when he noticed Wills voice become very shakey.

"Okay Lando, no need to worry right now, but Aria's water just broke. She's in labor right now. They are taking her to the medical center."

"What? Is she okay? What's happening? Are the babies alright?"

"She will find out shortly. Before she left she told you that you better get on that podium and bring the trophy to where she is."

"Will, I don't want to, I need to be with Aria right now."

"I get it Lando but she insisted, I'll let Michael know that the podium needs to be quick because you need to get to her alright?"

A million things were going on in my head. My fiancé is in labor right now and I'm not by her side. I just won my first ever f1 race. I'm about to become a dad to twins. Are they going to be alright? I tried to calm down but I was incredibly stressed. When I pulled into the pit lane, I got out as quick as I could. Every driver knew what was going on so Max and Sebastian made sure they would too get to the podium fast for me which I appreciated. When I got out of the cockpit people wanted to interview me but I ran off after putting my gear down and doing all normal procedures. I went to the cool down room with my head in my hands. I was terrified right now. I didn't know if they were okay or not. Mad and Seb walked in and gave me hugs congratulating me on the win and the twins. As soon as the podium was ready we all went up. When my name was said and I walked out I heard the loudest cheers ever. This was the best moment of my life until a few hours later.
