PRESENT DAY - IRAQ

Rage, an emotion that can be fueled in several ways, was practically compressed in the room, surging through everyone. Being betrayed was one of those reasons. Kingo had walked out on their plan with his cameraman after revealing Sprite's love for Ikaris, and that only undermined everyone's determination.

"I'm going to kill him," Y/n murmured as she sat with her husband; his arms were draped around her waist as she stared at nothing, not knowledgeable of the tears streaming down her face and how tightly she was grasping onto Druig. Their abilities alone weren't enough to exterminate a celestial, and it inevitably put a complication in their scheme.

"If I'm going to get myself killed going up against Ikaris, we need a backup plan," Druig said, making Y/n's brows crease and her head perk off his chest.

"You aren't going to die, idiot." Y/n declared with seriousness mixed in her pupils. "That can't happen."

"Well, just in case, Y/n did turn a deviant into stone," Sersi remembered, earning an intense scowl from Druig.

"I literally told you not to speak of that," Druig uttered, but he knew there was nothing he could do now that the truth was out. "I don't want her getting hurt."

"I'm sorry what? I understand you didn't want her to get hurt, Druig, but when were any of you going to tell me this?" Phastos questioned, demoralized.

"I don't know how I managed to do it. Either way, I'm pretty sure I can't do it again." Y/n whispered, still not one hundred percent done processing the Ikaris' treachery.

"Well, now is the time to try," Phastos insinuated, massaging his forehead's temples.

"But I killed it. We plan to put the celestial to sleep, not to kill it." Y/n contended.

"We can't kill a celestial, but I'm sure if you absorb enough of its power, it can be put to sleep-" Sersi mumbled, striving to divulge another solution.

"I need some air," Y/n interrupted, dazed, as she wandered out of the compartment into a different hallway. Finally, discovering a spot where she thought no one would locate her, she settled on the floor with her back against the wall, maneuvering three black spheres of power in her hands as if to juggle it.

"I know you're there, Thena," Y/n called out, feeling someone's presence.

"I am still not over the fact that you can do that." Thena marveled, trudging out of the murky intersection of the room to relax next to her sister. "You're doubting yourself."
