📜Scriptures📜

Acts 3:1‭-‬12 NLT
Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o'clock prayer service. As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money. Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, "Look at us!" The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. But Peter said, "I don't have any silver or gold for you. But I'll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!" Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man's feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God. When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded! They all rushed out in amazement to Solomon's Colonnade, where the man was holding tightly to Peter and John. Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. "People of Israel," he said, "what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness?

🗣️The message

Sometimes we In the Body of Christ get caught up in the temporary things of this world and miss the bigger blessings God wants to do our lives. In this passage the crippled man was expecting money, something tempoary, but instead God gave him something greater, healing for his body from the one who gives life. He was looking for the brief satisfaction of money when God wanted to heal him completly not just physically but spiritually.

What great love God has for us, sometimes He doesn't give us what we want, but what we need and the blessing we get from it it always outweights our wants even when we don't see it.

God wanted to heal the crippled man holistically. In this passage the crippled man as well as the Apostle got a blessing. The crippled man regained his ability to walk and the Apostles got the opportunity to preach about life and lead many to salvation. We in the Body of Christ sometimes get so caught up in the world and forget what Jesus has called us to do, Call others to salvation and show people Christ love.

The Apostles used The power of The Holy Spirit to heal the Crippled man and when they saw the opportunity led about 5000 people to salvation.

The Apostles weren't rich in the eyes of the world but they were rich in the eyes of God(John 4:32-34) and their obediance blessed them and those who heard them with something more precious than gold, Salvation.

In light of this, let us pray for the minds of the believers to be directed towards things that last forever not things that will pass away, towards our commission and being intentional in it, and also for the stregnth and wisdom to carry it out.
