Genesis 4:6-7 NIV

6 Then the Lord said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it."

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.

🗣️The Message📜

Many people have this perception that life is supposed to be easy and trouble-free when you become Christian. Sadly this is the reason blame is cast on God when things go wrong and people turn away, but God never promised a trouble-free life. Throughout history, God has shown us even through Himself that we will have to fight and endure pain in this world. If we look even in the beginning God allowed Adam and Eve to be tested in the garden of Eden, but He didn't leave them unarmed they had God's Word of truth that they could eat from every tree but the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That truth should have been enough to defeat the father of lies. Even so when Eve started to fight with The Word of truth, she took off her belt of truth, lowered her shield of faith, and was defeated when God's Word was questioned. Then after being banished from the garden their children Cain and Able Aldo had to fight against the curse of sin. Cain was tempted with the spirit of jealousy, but he was also armed with The Word of Truth because God spoke to him before he sinned and said,

"Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it."

God told Cain that he must fight, he had to deny the spirit of jealously, take authority over his body, and keep his shield up. But Cain Lowered his sword and his shield of faith, and took off his belt of truth, and allowed sin to rule over him as a result the first death on earth occurred. Why? because Cain refused to fight.

But the fight didn't end there throughout history the fight against sin continued. Noah had to fight doubt but he won, he kept on his whole armor, trusted The Lord, and was saved from the flood. Abraham kept on his armor, had great faith in God and his truth to the point of almost sacrificing his son, as a result, he was blessed abundantly and we were blessed through Him because He trusted God to deliver on His promises.

Jacob also had to fight sin, some battles he lost and some he won. Joseph was born into a great fight he grew up being coveted by his brothers, then he got sold into slavery and had to fight the sin of adultery when his owner's wife tried to seduce him, but he used His sword and shield and kept on his helmet and his belt. This sadly landed him in prison, he could have succumbed to doubt, but he raised his shield and sword once again and continued to fight until God blessed him. He didn't let discouragement come and destroy him, he could have done what many have done and got mad at God, but he continued to trust Him, no matter what happened he had faith. As a result, he was blessed and was able to bless others.

The list goes on Samuel, Saul, David, Esther, Ruth, Daniel, The Prophets, The Apostles, they all had to fight sin, but Jesus our Lord and said in the beginning that we must rule over it or it will rule over us.

Ephesians 6:12 says,

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

We must fight as those in The Bible did if not we will be defeated just as Cain was, Just as Adam and Eve were, Just as Saul was. Jesus has come, has died for our sins, and has risen to give us new life. He is interceding on our behalf, but that doesn't mean the fight is over, it just means we have to maintain our victory and continue to fight against The enemies' lies with God's truth.

In The Word it says,

"Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

33 They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, 'You will be made free'?"

34 Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."(John 8:31-36)"

Every Great fight in The Bible against sin was won with The Word, God's Word of truth. It was won by abiding in In God's truth and from it came great freedom. God has called us to fight, He didn't promise smooth sailing, God has called us to overcome even when battles are back to back, even when it gets difficult God calls us to fight, fight as the apostles fought and we know they fought with His Word and prayer until the end. " For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12 KJV)." So as you all leave today continue to fight, continue to overcome, continue to rule over sin for God has already defeated the enemy we must hold fast to our armor, to our truth, to the Word so we will be victorious In Jesus Name!!!
