Tuesday, 7:09 p.m.

It turned out that studying in the living room was a good choice. For the first one and a half hour, Nari studied with little to no distraction. After that, however, she began to notice movements from the standing full-body mirror right by the dining table. She hated the placement of the thing because she could see directly into the living room next door. It wasn't a problem before when there was no movement, but now the movements were continuous.

She stood up, adjusting the mirror so that it no longer faced the next door's interior and instead faced part of her dining table and the hallway leading to the front door.

She figured this would do, but a few minutes proved her wrong; she could hear loud chatter and excited screams from the boy's house and she immediately caught on— Jisung had friends over. She tried to ignore the loud video game noises but as time moved on, it began to feel like the boys were actually in her living room.

Eventually, she slammed her pen against the table, standing up. She spun in her spot, glaring at the scene before her: there were about five different boys, all huddling around his mounted TV, yelling at it like it could understand them. Almost immediately, she spotted the familiar head of disheveled, light brown hair sitting amongst his friends.

Can he not? When he's not destroying her bedroom view with his sensual escapades, he's ruining her homely peace with this testosterone fest? She's not allowing it.

She marched towards her patio door but stopped when a flashing light on her oven reminded her of something— her mom's pie.

Nari stood there for a moment, contemplating whether she should actually give the pie to Jisung. It's not like her mom would know whether she gave it to him or not, but she didn't want to finish one entire pie on her own either. She huffed, opening the oven door to retrieve the pie with mittens.

She walked out of her patio door, unlocking the little picket fence that separated their two houses (she never understood the design of this, aware that this essentially means their houses were connected) before making her way to his glass doors.

She knocked carefully, suddenly self-conscious of the fact that there were a bunch of boys just a few steps from her while she looked like a bloody mess, still in her uniform from today. Luckily, her knocks were only loud enough to capture Jisung's attention and none of the other boys.

He turned around and surprise flashed through his eyes for a sliver of a moment before it turned into a skeptical look. He got up from his sofa and jogged over to his door before opening them. She caught a whiff of his detergent as he stared down at her.

"What?"

"Do you mind keeping it down? I'm trying to study."

"Of course you are. Do you ever do anything else? Like I don't know—" he shrugged— "smile, maybe?" He looked down at her uniform. "Or shower?"

This imbecile—

"Why are you holding a pie?"

She was shaken from her thoughts as she looked down at the baked goods in her hands.

A smug smile curved on his lips. "Did your mom make that for me?" He tutted. "She's always been so sweet—" his lips curled into a scowl— "I don't know what happened to you."

In an attempt to save face, she forced out a little scoff— "don't flatter yourself, this pie's for Mrs. Katsuki. I just came here to tell you to lower that damn thing."

He looked skeptical, but rolled his eyes— "whatever."

With his eyes still on her, he yelled, "Chenle!"

A boy with dark, frizzy hair turned around, giving them both his attention. Nari's head tilted past Jisung and into the room to get a glimpse of the boy. He's handsome, this one. Pretty, full lips and magnetic eyes. She almost forgot about the boy standing in front of her. When she looked back up at him, his eyebrows were deeply furrowed. He looked down at her and scoffed mischievously before turning to face his friend. "Yo, turn up the volume."

She almost audibly gasped at his command for his friend. She felt the heat increasing in her chest and she fought the urge not to pie him in the face with this literal pie. Too frustrated to even talk, she groaned and spun on her heels to leave him behind. She marched back into her house and placed the pie roughly on the counter.

She wanted to kill him, she really did. She wanted him to fall out of his window and break something. In fact, she's surprised it's never happened before, given that he uses that tree in between their house to sneak in and out of his bedroom window like the rule-breaking, disrespecting idiot he was.

Whatever. She collected her wild array of books from the dining table and onto her hands before climbing up her stairs, away from the brutal gunshot noises. Maybe she did need a shower— not because he said so, but because she deserved a break.

Yeah, she needed a break.
