hey guys this is the prologue. it's basically just a little flashback of before harry moves. so you can see how their friendship was before everything happened.
"anne" jay said walking into her bestfriends room
"yea?" anne asked from her bed trying to see if she has a baby bump yet
"i'm pregnant" jay said quickly
...
"harry stop running so fast!" 4 year old louis yelled after his bestfriend
"sorry lou" harry said catching his breath waiting for louis to catch up
"boys! lunch!" harry heard his mum say
"race you to the house" harry said to louis quickly before he took off running
"ugh not fair" louis grumbled and started running too
...
"hey lou do you wanna go bowling with zayn and liam and i after school?" 8 year old harry asked louis
"um, can niall come too?" louis asked trying not to get lost in harrys green eyes
"of course, do you think your mum could take us? or should i ask my mum?"
"um, you should ask your mum because my mum will be at work still"
"okay i will when she picks us up" harry smiled
...
"harry? what's wrong why are you crying?" 12 year old louis asked as harry walked into louis' room with tears streaming down his face
"my dad got a new job in the states" harry sobbed "we have to move next month"
louis' blood ran cold no he can't move he's gonna meet another louis and become his bestfriend and harrys gonna forget about me
"well, looks like we have a lot of memories to make in a month" he said, referring to their bucket list
harry sighs "louis we're only twelve, how are we going to be able to even do half the stuff we wanna do if we don't have a car?"
"okay then we make a new list. one where we can do everything on it" louis said
harry smiled "okay yea, let's make it"
...
"i'm gonna miss you" harry whispered in louis' ear as they hugged goodbye
"well don't be a stranger okay?" louis hugged tighter "you gotta tell me all about california and you need to send me pictures of disney land if you ever go"
harry pulled back a little to look at louis' face "i will, and you need to tell me how niall and liam and zayn are every day, and most importantly you need to tell me how you are"
louis nodded with a sad smile "i will" he went to hug harry again when he remembered something "oh! i almost forgot"
"what?" harry said letting go of louis
louis dug in his hoodie pocket "i got us matching necklaces" he blushed "kind of like a promise that we won't forget eachother and we have to promise eachother that we will wear every single day"
harry smiled and took the necklace louis was handing him. he looked at it and smiled wider when he realized what it was.
"an l?" harry asked amused
"uh yeah? so when people at your new school ask why you have an l on your neck you can say 'because my best friends name starts with one' and mine is an h so" louis shrugged
"i love it, thank you" harry said as he put it on himself "where's yours?"
louis smiled and took it out from under his shirt "been wearing it this whole time"
harry started tearing up again "im gonna miss you so so much lou" he hugged louis again
"im gonna miss you too" louis said and squeezed harder
they stayed there until anne and des came out of louis' house to leave after saying goodbye to jay who followed them out.
"okay harry we gotta go now" anne said to her son
harry nodded and slowly let louis go "goodbye lou lou" he whispered
louis smiled at the nickname "goodbye haz" he whispered back
harry smiled and got into his dads car. with one final wave from all of them they drove off.
"i'm gonna miss him" louis said sadly to his mum
"don't worry honey, as soon as you get a phone i'm gonna make sure you guys can text everyday" jay said as they walked inside
louis smiled "thank you"
