"There's another side that you don't know, you don't know~" Dazai sang while putting items back on the shelf.
Ring.
"I can't wait to get you all alone, all alone~" Dazai sang without a care in the world.
He had his headphones on, and the volume up. It was night time so many customers wouldn't come. However, Dazai didn't particularly care if someone heard him.
"Once I'm in, there ain't no letting go, letting go~"
Quiet footsteps made quick work to follow the angelic voice that rang all throughout the store.
"Watch me turn your mind into my home~"
Turning around, Dazai saw a customer watching him sing. He wasn't startled by the customer just uninterested.
"Can I help you with something, sir?" Dazai asked the man.
"Possibly...You have such a beautiful voice," the man complimented.
"Thank you."
Dazai turned back to the shelves. He thought the conversation was over but that was a mistake. Their conversation was far from over.
"How long have you been singing for?" the man asked.
"Hmmm...around five years," Dazai said. "Look, I have to get back to w–"
"I am in a band and we are looking for a new singer. The one we used to have made some major mistakes so we kicked him out. None of the remaining members are good singers, myself included of course. Therefore, we are in need of a singer," the man interrupted.
Dazai stared at the customer, analyzing every inch of the man in front of him. Of course, Dazai had a couple of questions in mind. He decided not to voice them into existence as that could lead the stranger to believe he was interested in joining. However, Dazai did open his mouth to say, "Are you asking me to join your band?"
"Yes, I am," the man said. "Will you join?"
"Not interested."
"Can you at least meet my other band members and perform with us at least once before making a final decision?"
"As I said before, I am not interested," Dazai said, shutting down any form of hope the other man had.
The stranger sighed, giving up on convincing Dazai to join. There was absolutely no point in trying to convince someone who already had a set-in-stone decision. But that didn't stop the man from saying: "Well, if you change your mind, please let me know." The man even gave Dazai a piece of paper with a phone number scribbled on it. The customer then turned around and left for another aisle; Dazai stared at the paper before pocketing it away.
Even though Dazai said he wasn't interested in joining the stranger's band, he was very much so interested in the guy that asked. The stranger was certainly eye candy and the thick accent was rather sexy.
But that didn't change the fact that what was said, was said. Nothing can change the past no matter how much you want to...
Dazai ended his shift mindlessly with his music playing loud. He liked it that way–his music drowning all sounds out, all thoughts out. It allowed Dazai's brain to be quiet for just a little bit.
After his shift, Dazai had nothing to do but wander around the empty streets of Yokohama. It was the dead of night yet he didn't feel tired in the least bit. So Dazai decided to roam around the city with no real objective other than to pass the time.
Loud music played down one dark-looking alleyway. The music blared all the way out to the main street and Dazai found himself not being able to hear his own music playing through his headphones. The alleyway was dark and ominous, nobody was around but that didn't stop Dazai from walking straight into the darkness. It took a couple of minutes before Dazai finally reached the end of the dark alleyway.
