* HIS POV *

The second that those words left her full lips Chase was shaking his head. He knew how this goes he'd seen the one person he ever loved go down this road and he barely made out alive, without them. So when Nova admits this he knows exactly how it's been for the past....? how long? Could it be days? weeks? months?.....Years? how long has this gorgeous girl doubted her worth?

"How long?" He might as well get straight to the point.

"w-wh-what?" She stuttered out, nerves rising back up now that there was no physical contact.

Maybe she shouldn't have said that? Maybe she scared him off? Damn what the fuck is wrong with her?

Going back to her hand he starts "How long have you hated yourself" Nova takes in a shallow gasp at this and searches his eyes for deceit or un-honest intentions. But of course, none were found.

Looking down she mutters out as quietly as possible, "Sense I was 12" and now it's Chase that's taking in a shallow gasp.

Since she was 12? fucking 12? at 12 all I thought about was if I had enough money to buy ice cream for myself? But here is this girl wondering if she is worth anything? No. That is so utterly fucked.

And then Chase is hugging her. His arms slipped around her waist and chin resting on her shoulders.

"Wha-?" Nova breathed in a sharp breath. Her hands stay lip at her sides for several movements until they slowly wrap around his back and neck. But the melodious laugh that leaves her lungs isn't soft and quiet, it's loud and genuine. It's the laugh that only happens when you truly find something funny.

"You're hugging me but don't even know my name?" she gets out between laughs "you don't know if I'm cereal killer?"

Pulling back "Your right I don't know your name and you could be a cereal killer, but you were hugging me too and don't know my name or if I'm a cereal killer," he says accusingly.

"Touche" she softly smiles back.

"Ok so you have two options," Chase shifts nervously in his seat next to her "you can tell me your name and I can tell you mine. You can tell me you're not a cereal killer and I can give you my reassurance or....."

"Or?" she prompts.

"Or we can not tell names and we can agree to meet here next week at the same time, and become friends the old-fashioned way?"

"Chase you know I'm in your English Lit 3 class right?" she says amused, while his eyes widen.

There is no way I have been in class for what? 1 and a half years and not noticed her? Right?

"Actually....." he drawls out. not making eye contact.
