One thing that does not abide by majority rule is a person's conscience.

I was back in my room after dinner, Mr D'Amelio had received a phone call and took off without another word to me. Not that I was complaining though it was kind of hard to think straight with he's stormy grey eyes boring into my soul. I got out of bed and walked to the balcony to take in the cool crispy air. The red silk nightdress I had on did nothing to protect me from the cold air but the cold air certainly did a great job at calming my racing mind. I stood there for approximately five minutes until I heard an engine approaching the house. A black and blue Bugatti La Voiture Noire drove up the drive way. Who ever owns it must surely have an expensive taste in cars..

I admired the car's beauty from my balcony as it parked in the driveway, it had tinted windows making it hard to see the driver and the black rims made it look even more sleek. Slowly the door of the car opened and a tall muscular figure stepped out which I immediately recognized as Mr D'Amelio. He turned around and he's eyes bore into mine like they always do. The moon served as my only source of light so I could make out that see he's shirt that was stained with blood underneath he's black suit, I could also make out he's face which gave no emotions away, he looked like a wild animal which had just come from hunting. He's eyes were stone cold and a malicious grin braced he's face when he saw me return he's cold stare. I broke eye contact and walked back into my room not being able to hold he's gaze anymore, slipped into my bed and tried my best to fall asleep.

I didn't get much sleep last night and the bags under my eyes were proof of that. I stared at my reflection and cringed at the state I was in, I really looked like shit. My midnight black hair looked like a birds nest due to me tossing and turning all night and my skin looked paler than usual. I stepped into the shower and let the warm water relax my tense muscles. My mind had been racing the whole night because of stormy grey eyes that refused to stop popping themselves in my head. What's worse is I don't even know why.

After a long shower I left the bathroom to moisturize my skin, I applied some concealer to hide the bags under my eyes and changed the bandages of my wound. I pick out black sweat pants, a pink hoodie and my white airforce one's to wear for the day. I let my hair air dry and made my way to my mom's room to check up on her. I knocked on her door and she opened the door wearing navy blue scrubs and a long white doctor's coat.

"Morning sweetheart, how did you sleep?" she asked pulling the door wide open allowing me to enter.

"I slept great mom how about you? Where are you going all dressed for work?" I asked plopping myself down on her bed. Her room was similar to mine but the only difference was the colours, she had a mix of black and a grey in her room while I had a mix of white and a light pink in mine .

"Mr D'Amelio said I could work at he's Mafia's private hospital. That way I can do what I love and still be safe because some of he's members work there too." she replied packing her work bag.

"I was informed yesterday, I just didn't think you'd go to work so soon." I said

"Honey your father has controlled us for most of our lives, I am not going to give him the power to do so now especially because he's not here physically." she said smiling at me.

"You're right, which reminds me I need to get to school I'm already one hour late." I said rushing back to my room to pack my school bag. My mom walked into my room and chuckled at my quick movements to get things done. After I was done packing we both made our way downstairs.
