Another side

Chapter 1

I comb through my hair as I look in the mirror getting ready for my day. It's almost the end of junior year and I'm completely ready to complete my junior year in normality. Last year was a not so normal beginning of junior year. My little brother Will went missing. Turns out he was taken to an alternate dimension by a monster.

Me, my now reunited best friend Nancy (cause we stopped being friends in seventh grade) and my twin brother Jonathan decided to hunt the monster. Which ended with all of us almost getting killed. Nancy's boyfriend Steve joined us who's also one of my closest friends.

There was young girl named Eleven with superpowers saved all of us and killed the monster but now I'm pretty sure she's dead too. That pretty much summons up the beginning of my junior year, as I said not so normal.

I hear a beep outside and I know Steve and Nancy are there. I go outside and sit in the backseat of the car. When we get to school, I leave them alone cause I hate hanging out with them when they're together cause they're all lovey dovey. It's revolting or maybe I'm just a bitter single person.

I open my locker and then I hear a raspy chuckle beside me. "Am I in heaven?" I turn to see a very attractive blonde guy with a put out cigarette between his teeth. "No you're in hell." He looks me up and down slowly.

"Then you must be a temptation." I nod at him impressed. "Do you use that on all the girls or am I special?" He leans on the locker beside me. "You're special. The other girls usually swoon after the heaven part." I chuckle. "Happy to be the one to break your cycle."

He holds out his hand for me to shake. "I'm Billy, I just moved here and I'm a senior." I shake his hand. "I'm Jessica, I've lived here my whole life and I'm a junior." He nods. "Then I guess this is the only way we will meet." I chuckle. "I guess so."

He puts all his stuff in the locker beside me then winks. "Looking forward to the next time babe." Before I can even say anything he walks away leaving me dazed. I snap out of it before walking to my next class which I have with Jonathan and Nancy.

After class a girl in my year is handing out flyers for her Halloween party. She smiles. "Hi, Jessica. Be there." I smile back. "Thanks, Tina. I'll definitely be there." I take the flyer and Nancy grabs a second one before handing it to my brother. That's a lost cause trying to get him to a party. He always refuses to go and he's definitely gonna use taking Will trick or treating as an excuse even though he'll probably be back home by like eight.

We get to Nancy's locker and she tries to convince him once more by saying he could even meet someone. Before Jonathan can even answer Steve comes up behind Nancy and lifts her up causing her to shriek.

He's wearing sunglasses which I think is pretty stupid considering we're inside and it's not that bright. He tells her he missed her which is ridiculous cause it's only been an hour. Then he proceeds to eat her face. I fake gag before walking away to my locker.

After school, it's now evening and I'm laying on the couch waiting for the rest of my family + Bob (my mum's boyfriend) to come for movie night. It's Jonathan's turn to pick but I know other people are gonna influence his decision. .

Finally after some time Bob walks in with 'Mr Mum' in his hand. The rest of the family join us and we watch the movie. Suddenly the phone rings and I feel myself jump. I'm not the only one negatively affected. Mum has a distant look on her face most likely remembering last year. Halfway through the movie I fall asleep on the couch because I'm exhausted.
