The next morning is absolute chaos. Mum lost her keys again and as usual she has the whole family looking for them. Honestly she would lose her head if it wasn't screwed to her neck. Suddenly a voice comes up behind me and I let out a yell. "Sorry, Jessica, didn't mean to give you a fright." Bob hands Mum her keys and she kisses his cheek. Oh he's staying over now.
I smirk at mum and she whacks me on the shoulder before asking Jon to drop of Will. Bob offers to do it and then it's settled that Bob will in fact take Will. I don't really care who takes Will because it's not really that important.
Jonathan leaves and I wait for Steve to come and get me. He in fact doesn't show up at all. I call the Wheelers house and Nancy answers. "Hello?" I sigh in relief. So they're not hurt. "Hey, where are you guys?" She sighs. "Steve didn't come pick you up either."
I groan. This probably has to do with whatever happened at the Halloween party last night. God he's so annoying. Why is he punishing me? I grab my old bike which I suprisingly still fit on.
I bike to school and by the time I reach there, I already missed first period. I storm to the gym to give Steve a piece of my mind and apparently Nancy's thinking the same thing. We're about to take him outside when Nancy gives me a look insinuating that she wants to talk to him alone.
I groan and sit on the stands. I guess I'll chew him out when he comes back. I feel someone sit next to me and I turn to look at Billy. "Um hello?" He smirks. "I had fun last night." The boys sitting above us hear that and start cheering.
I whack him. "Stop making it sound like we had sex." He scoffs. "Don't act like it's something that you wouldn't want to do." I roll my eyes. "It is something I wouldn't want to do. I don't want to have sex with you Billy." He pats my head. "Keep telling yourself those lies Jessica."
He winks at me before going back into the game. Steve walks back in and I glare at him. He goes back into the game. I wait for the game to finish and then when it's done, he comes up to me.
"You didn't pick me up." He shrugs. "I'm sorry." "Don't let your lovers tiff ruin our friendship. I had to ride my bike to school. If you and Nancy broke up don't be a bitch to me. I was your friend before she was your girlfriend. So don't leave me behind in the mornings ok?"
He sighs and nods. I pat his shoulder and I walk away. After school, I see Sam standing at his car with some senior girl and Billy is sitting at the back of the car quietly. Sam makes eye contact with me and smiles cockily and I just point the finger at him cause I'm done with his attitude.
Obviously that upsets him and he gets in the car driving away really fast with the girl in his passenger seat and Billy in the back. I don't like how quiet Billy is around Sam. The Billy I've talked to is the confident, cocky one. I don't like that Billy either but he's better than the silent, no backbone one.
