13: A Bright Idea

Virgil got up and went to check the mail box. Being half awake he didn't notice the envelope with his name on it. Patton was already awake and in the kitchen making breakfast "Good morning Virg!" "Morning Pat!" The two did the same morning ritual they had done for 6 months. Patton finished the pancakes and sat down at the table with Virgil "Any mail?" Virgil had finally woken up enough to read the envelope "There is one for me?" He said in a questioning tone. Patton looked just as surprised "Well open it!" Virgil took it out and read the letter. It was Roman's dumb romantic apology but he saw in the corner of the page and weird black and white design. Patton read the letter and looked at the design "Maybe it's a puzzle I would cut the design out!" Virgil laughed and went to grab the scissors "Whatever you say Pat." Right then Logan bust through the dorm with an outfit that made him look like a business man "Sorry I'm late!" He grabbed a pancake kissed Patton on the forehead and ran out the door "I will be back for dinner!" Virgil came from the kitchen with a can of monster what was all of that about? Patton smiled at Virgil and explained " Since he got added on to that team he has to explain his plans and how he will help NASA for funding and to not lose his place on the team." Virgil took a drink and replied back "Is that what all the flash cards are for?" Patton giggled "Yes I never thought I would go in debt due it notecards." Patton face lit up the way it did when he had an idea. Virgil put down the monster can "What are you thinking Pat?" Patton sprung out of his seat "WE SHOULD THROW LOGAN A GOING AWAY PARTY!" Virgil hopped up to, to match Patton excitement "FRICK YEAH!" Patton playful hit him "Virgil language!" The two laughed hysterically and opened Pinterest for ideas. Logan was calm on the outside as he walked into the jewelry store but inside he was freaking out. He knew Patton loved him but was he ready to be engaged? He pushed the thoughts down a walked up to the desk with a man who look like a librarian behind it. He read the name tag which read Emile then he started his request "Good morning um Emile I'm Logan and I'm planning to buy a engagement ring." Emile had a smile painted on his face "Well golly jee we better get started!" Logan felt a wave of calm hit him and he sat down to start picking out the perfect ring . The two talked for an hour and half doing nothing but laugh and planning plus sharing stories. At the end Logan told Emile about his NASA opportunity and his plan to propose to Patton right before he left. Emile saw Logan to the door the same welcoming smile came across his face "Well if Patton is as perfect as you say I think we will be planning a wedding in no time." Logan smiled at got into his car checking the time he was almost late to dinner. He sped off with giddy smile and the hope of the perfect engagement.
