The design for the Olympic Class were submitted by the main designers of the Titanic in Belfast on July 29th, 1908 and was approved by Bruce Ismay and other White Star directors.
Carlisle's drawings show that Titanic incorporated a number of innovative naval design features, including the division of the hull into a series of virtually watertight compartments.
