Harry's P.O.V

All he wanted to do was prepare a nice meal for the both of us. I step out to use the bathroom and return to a fire! What even happened and why to Lou. He's done nothing to deserve this.

I was staring off, my head facing the floor when the doctor walked in.

"Mr.Styles."

"Yeah? How is he?" I looked up, my eyes becoming watery.

"He's doing better. He is resting up right now. We have put an oxygen mask on him to help work out the carbon monoxide. There is a bit of bad news, he has lost his memory. It is only temporary and should last for a few days at the most. Also he will be asleep for most of the time, if he doesn't rest up his condition might worsen rather than become better."

By now I was sobbing. He wouldn't remember me. Someone you love and care for and they can't remember you. I know it's just for a few days, but it's going to feel like forever.

"Could I stay with him?"

He nodded his head and gestured for me to follow.

"We will be contacting his family soon. For now have a seat in here and be very quiet, remember he needs his rest." I walked in and the doctor shut the door behind me. I stood frozen in place. Louis had bandages on his arms, head, and stomach. How did he manage to even get burnt there. I wish he knew so he could tell me. There was a dull sound coming from a machine placed next to his bed, a small tube leading up to the mask on his face. I figured that was where he was getting the extra oxygen from.

Before I moved any closer, I pulled my phone out and put it on silent. I walked over to his bedside and sat down in the chair next to him. His hand was hung over the side of the bed and I took that moment to take hold of it. I wasn't expecting him to react, but when he did I smiled. His fingers closed onto my hand and he gave it a light squeeze, a smile appeared on his face. I was more comfortable now and I slouched in the chair where I drifted off to sleep hand in hand with Lou.

Louis' P.O.V

I woke up to a dim-lit  room. I looked at where I was and realized I had bandages on my arm and stomach areas. A machine was placed next to me and the sound it made wasn't very loud. A small tube was connected to it and I followed it to see where it lead to. It was connected to a mask on my face. That's when I figured out that I was receiving oxygen from this machine. What happened? I went to rub my eyes, but something held my hand back......another hand? I followed the hand, trailing up the arm before I saw a boy with some of the curliest hair I have ever seen.

Who was he?

Surprisingly I wasn't bothered as we held hands and I thought it was cute he was hanging onto me as he slept. It's like he's protecting me, even as he sleeps,  it seems like he'd never let anyone near me, to hurt me. I mean obviously I'm hurt now, but he's being really protective about it. I wonder what happened, how did I end up here? Here. Where am I exactly? I thought silently to myself. It has to be a hospital, I mean what other place would have all this equiptment and all. I looked at the boy again and smiled. I watched him, stared at him and then my eyes felt heavy. I was defeated by the sleepiness and slowly drifted into sleep.

Johannah's P.O.V

I was sitting on the sofa watching the new Cinderella movie alone. No one was here with me because everyone went on vacation.  I was really focused on the screen when the home phone started ringing. I jumped having not expected it. I paused the movie and got up to answer.

"Hello?"

"Hi, yes, is this Louis Tomlinson's mom?"

"It is. Can I help you, what's happened?" I paced the floor waiting for the man to respond.

"Your son was in a house fire. He has recieved carbon monoxide poisoning from it. He has a few symptoms such as drowsiness,  shallow breathing, and memory loss."

My eyes widened and I spoke rather quickly.

"He has memory loss?! Will he be okay?"

"His memory loss is temporary. It will only last for a few days at the most. In order for him to recover, he needs to have a full amount of rest,  meaning he will be asleep for most of his time being here. At the moment we have an oxygen mask on him to help work out the carbon monoxide.  When he is recovered he will need a bit of therapy to help make sure he can walk okay, and we will need to work on his breathing as he runs. As you probably already know, you breath more heavily while exercising, but because of the condition your child is in, he might struggle with it. We will be helping to make sure we can have him back on normal breathing measures. He should be fine in a couple of weeks."

My jaw dropped.  It all came so quickly, I couldn't believe it.

"Can I come visit?"

"Of course you can, but Mr. Tomlinson has his partner here with him."

I nodded my head at his words. It was probably Eleanor, she's always with him.

"Okay, I'll be there soon. Thank you so much."  I hung up the phone and rushed around the room to gather my things. I turned everything off and ran to the car.
