Y/n's pov

𝐴𝑔𝑒 - 7

I sent my right fist out punching the air in front of me and then did the same with my left fist. On my sixth punch someone grabbed my right wrist from behind me. I glanced up to see it was my mother. She smiled down at me as she held my wrists. I looked back forward to see she forced me to open my hands.

"Let me guide you", she said. I closed my eyes and brought my hands closer towards me slightly. My mother moved my arms in smooth motions.

"Yòng nǐ de hūxī yǐndǎo", she said moving my hands to be on top of each other. My right hand was pressed up against the palm of my left. "Kàn kàn nǐ de nèixīn, guāngmíng hé hēi'àn", she said moving my arms to be parallel then force them apart as if I was trying to part the sea, then twisted my wrist slightly so my palms were facing forward as if I was trying to push someone.

"Yào liǎojiě zìjǐ, bìxū tóngshí miàn duì" she spoke moving my arms to slight towards the air in a slanted position. Then close my hands as she moved my wrist downward. She made me keep my right arm curled slightly while moving it to the side. My left stayed outstretched as it followed my right.

"Do you understand", she asked. "Yes mother", I replied. She nuzzled my head making me laugh slightly then released my wrist. She stepped from behind me sitting on the floor beside me. She patted the floor to signal me to sit down next to her. I sat down beside her snuggling closer towards her. I stared at the huge crane statue that was near the entrance to our home.

"Tell me why you think we fight with open palms", my mother asked looking down at me. "It's powerful", I answered causing her to shake her head. "It's not about the power, it's about peace", she stated. "Anger is a poison, a con, when fighting someone", she explains. "It plagues the mind and makes you do things you never thought you would do until it's too late", she added.

She lifts her arms, moving her hands and arms in a fluid-like fighting motion. "The movements are like a river, the body is made in a fluid like motion, but is just as powerful", she said. "You could easily be swiped away or drown within it", she added. "The movements help you keep a calm mind while defending yourself", she said lowering her arms. "Do you understand", she asked making me nod my head.

"Never use this to kill unless you have to", she explained. "Never kill because you want to, only if it frees the soul of the person you are fighting", she said. "Yes mother", I said to her making her smile. "That's my girl", she said lowering her head to press it up against mines. She moved away from me smiling down at me.

"Now hurry to bed before you get a cold", she said. I nodded my head at her then stood up rushing off to my room. Before I entered back into the living room I looked back at my mom who was sitting under the moonlight. She had her eyes closed, she was meditating now. I turned back around entering the living room then rushed to my bedroom. I walked in and got under the covers. As soon as my head hit the pillow I was out like a light.
