Who is at fault for Gothams ways? Many people asked that question to the mayor, who never answered that question and if he did answer it, he told them that the criminals were at fault. Which meant that Gothams citizens were in constant danger of being a victim of a crime, especially with crime rates increasing by more than 60%.
the GCPD had been overworked lately, which was the downside of being in the city which was ridden with crime and officers being lazy with just sitting in their patrol cars and not budging. The increase criminal sightings were more than crucial for one officer, because she was the one who put them away when the Bat had not arrived. Aswell as her opinion of that the Bat was taking her job away from her.
It was 10pm in Gotham, and several officers had been deployed to fight these criminals in order to regain the city control back again to the GCPD, Mayor and the citizens. However the more that they tried, someone was to foil their tactics and someone would get hurt in the process. Mary Jane was sat at her desk, fiddling with her badge whilst wiping it and polishing it to make it look more presentable as she had previously did a speech regarding the matter of Gothams overcrowding of criminals. And boy did they notice that someone was snooping around everyones business, a serious activity that you cannot do to those criminals because they wipe you off the face of the earth. Last time someone got so involved in criminal activity, that officer was found in an alleyway with significant wounds to their body and one single bit of fingernail from the criminal which was left at the scene. That criminal had been Roman Sionis.. However Mary was working on a huge plot to arrest the Gotham city rouges.
It was a cold night in Gotham, and she had been on overtime because she had offered to do so. The radio chatter that came from her radio was a comforter for her, incase anything went wrong that she would have people around her in minutes to back her up. Her hues were looking around as she exhaled, the puddles of rain was better than the snow that Gotham had several days ago. She was shivering but she had to focus on her job. She was wrapped in a thick coat which had the letters GCPD on the chest. But she felt like she was being watched, which was unsettling to say the least. She chose to ignore that feeling as she walked, her gun in her hand whilst she squinted at the darkness. There was a sudden noise of a clatter, causing her to blink, and then there was a yell of fear. "Great-" she grumbled, cocking her gun and advancing on where the sounds had come from. Her flashlight shone into the alley that had been to origin of the noise. there was a officer on the ground, whilst she gently placed her gun into her holster she walked over. Examining the officer who had no pulse and was cold. Which was unusual for someone who had just passed away, what made her freeze was the file that officer had. 'Mary Jane' she paused and opened it, photos of her were in a pouch and every location she went had been put into the contents of the file. she was royally screwed.. No officer should ever take a file out of the GCPD file room, especially when it's an coworkers file. Her hues checked everything as she placed the file down and reached for her radio. "I'm gonna need some backup, looks as though one of the officers has been killed.." she spoke, that is until she heard footsteps and water splashing from the heavy footing. "I need to get the commissioner involved." she spoke again, acting like she hadn't heard that someone was near her.
"Well Well, if it ain't officer Jane, it's nice meeting you..we haven't seen each other for..a long time have we? Everyone wants to meet you..You screwed with the wrong people." she knew that voice, she paused and exhaled "Yeah? I'm guessing the rich asshole is here who goes by the name of Roman Sionis?" There was a loud laugh from him as he grasped the back of her jacket and pulled her away from the body and towards him. It made her freeze, her hand travelling to grab her gun. But that was cut short by being thrown to the ground, Roman had gotten stronger than what he was last time they met. She met with the wall against her head as she let out a loud groan..Her hands held her head from where she had hit it. "You need help!" she yelled at him whilst inhaling sharply. The man just stared down at her and placed his foot onto her throat. His fingers clicked as she heard several more footsteps. "Bringing goons with you to do your dirty work? Pathetic." She watched the male glare to several of the goons, without even saying another word she was whacked over the head with a blunt heavy object. Which of course sent her into a slight unconscious state. The sounds of sirens grew closer as she was beginning to close her eyes, her head swaying slightly whilst she was struggling to grasp hold of the little bit of consciousness she had left.
The next thing she knew was that she was on the floor of a moving van, and the radio inside the van was broadcasting of her being missing..
