Ariana was exhausted. She fell asleep around two am. All the worrying had really knocked her out..
She saw Order 66 again.. All the younglings, masters, padawans.. It broke Ariana's heart.
After, a familiar voice said, "Hope, there is. See it, you must. Trust the force, you will."
She kept seeing the fallen jedi until...Caleb shook Ariana awake. She looked pained in her sleep.. To be honest, he was haunted by leaving his Master and running. Ariana sat up and gasped for air.
Caleb looked at Ariana, concerned, and sat beside her. "You alright, Ariana?"
She didn't answer for a moment then looked at him. "I had a vision.."
"A vision?"
Visions were rare among jedi these days.. Especially with all the darkness clouding the force.
"I know.."
"What did you see?"
"I saw Order 66 again.. But I heard Yoda. He told me that there was hope.. And that I needed to see it and trust in the force."
"That reminds me.. Before we left, I found something.. Someone must have dropped it on the way out.. Or when they got shot."
He pulled out a holocron. She smiled, remembering the good times when she had used holocrons.
Together, they opened it.. "This is Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. I regret to report that both our jedi order and the republic have fallen with the dark shadow of the Empire rising to take their place. This message is a warning and a reminder to any surviving jedi.. Trust in the force. Do not return to the temple. That time has passed and our future is uncertain. We will each be challenged. Our trust, our faith.. Our friendships. But we must persevere. In time, a new hope will emerge. May the force be with you.. Always."
The two sat there, stunned and deep in thought. Suddenly, several troopers burst in. Luckily, their cloaks were still on to keep them warm through the night.
"They're jedi! Shoot to kill!" a storm trooper yelled.
Both padawans pulled out their lightsabers and deflected shots. They ran and ran until they misled them by hiding in an alley. Both sighed in relief and crept into the cantina - the best place they could think to hide. With their hoods still raised, they sat in the back.
"Caleb.. What do we do?" Ariana whispered.
Caleb frowned, feeling bad he didn't have a plan. "I-I don't know. I think we need to get off Coruscant."
"Shh!"
A green twi'lek in a pilot outfit sat across from the two jedi. "You need a ride?"
"Um.. Yes.." Caleb said cautiously.
She lowered her voice. "No need to worry.. I don't have any allegiance to the Empire. I take it you two aren't exactly loyal citizens?"
Caleb hesitated. Ariana looked at Caleb, trusting him to be right. The twi'lek seemed trustworthy.. Even sincere by the force.
"No.. Not exactly," Caleb admitted softly.
"I can get you off the planet, no problem."
Ariana crossed her arms. "What's the price?"
"There isn't any.. I don't mind helping you two out. You know what they say.. 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend.'"
"What's your name again?" Caleb said.
The twi'lek smiled. "Syndulla.. Hera Syndulla. Follow me if you want off this planet."
Ariana hesitated until Caleb followed. She trusted Caleb with her life.. This Hera could be trusted if Caleb trusted her.. At least, she could be trusted for now.
