Cubic tried his best to escape the room. He couldn't, no matter how hard he tried. It seemed so impossible, too impossible. He kept trying, though his attacks were using up most of his energy. He tried to attack again and fell, feeling like he was about to pass out. It couldn't end like this... could it? No. He stared, pushing the feelings of doubt to the back of his mind, he would get out.
He hoped.
Maybe if he didn't try and trust a pure shape, he wouldn't be in this mess.
He sat, curling up into a ball having nothing to do. He couldn't contact Dub. This would be a bit too hard to explain. He didn't even know what Dub would do to him just for trying to trust a pure shape.
He didn't want to know what Dub would do to him, either.
Cubic slid down, curling up on the cold, hard floor.
He couldn't help but wonder if that shape knew how to purify the corruption.
Get rid of him.
He didn't want to disappear...
He laid there, lost in his own thoughts, his mind slowly fading into a blank screen. The silence was deafening, almost comforting in a way to him. Soon his worries disappeared with his thoughts while sleep set in.
----------------------------------------------------
I walked down the empty streets, the cold wind brushing by me. I stared at the moon, the pinkish tint on the horizon was yet another reminder of what was happening.
The nightmare I have to relive again.
I walked, the leaves falling all around me. I walked through the streets up to my house, all the lights turned off except for one. I unlocked the door, going inside.
I walked by the living room, my brother playing video games aimlessly. I climbed the stairs, unlocking the door to my room and collapsing on my bed. I felt myself slowly start drifting into the deep nothingness. Away from all the fear and chaos of yesterday. Away from everything that could hurt me.
For once, peace today. Too bad it won't last very long.
I jolted awake to the blaring sound of my alarm. I reached for my phone, quickly shutting it off. I stared off into the distance for a while, trying to pull myself together. I stood up, walking downstairs to get breakfast.
Time seemed to fly by, though it only felt like minutes. I couldn't help but wonder about that cube. Maybe I should try and talk to him, get a bit of info out of him. It might be a bit useful if I know what he's gonna do. Maybe I can even try and be his friend, though I don't know if he'll trust me after what I did.
It took me a while to notice it was almost time for work. I rushed to get my work outfit on, grabbing my backpack. I bolted out of the door, running faster than I thought I ever could.
I burst through the employees only door in the back, breathing heavily. I stared at my boss. Who looked over in my general direction. He smiled at me, waving. I panted, giving him a vague hello before beginning my shift.
The work day went by pretty fast, surprisingly not many people showed up. I sighed, already ready for my break. I have something I wanna do.
Someone I wanna try and talk to.
Once my break came around, I turned the small sign on my desk around, leaving my post. I started walking down the oh so familiar hallway from last night.
I stopped right in front of the large metal door, small dents scattered all over its surface. I set my hand on the door, it was colder than ice.
I knocked on the door, "Hello?"
"What..." his muffled response echoed through the empty hallway.
"Can I talk to you?" I asked, smiling.
The silence from behind the door was so thick, it was Almost suffocating. I couldn't help but notice the odd tone in his voice when he talked. He sounded... afraid? But why? I couldn't hurt him.
I stood up, hearing shuffling behind the door. I started going back to the backrooms.
It didn't take long until I was back in the lobby and in the back rooms. I started searching for something. I reached out, grabbing one of the bottles of water. I really hope it hasn't been sitting there for very long.
He might appreciate it just a little, maybe even start trusting me.
I really hope this goes well.
