Dominic could barely focus on his work. He had looked everywhere. Paul literally disappeared. It just didn't make sense. He wanted so badly to go back to Chloe's place and spend the rest of the day with her, but he needed to work.
"Hey Dom?" Jack asked.
"Yeah?"
"Take a lunch break. Go eat with Chloe. You are clearly not focusing. But remember to come back."
"Thanks Jack. See you in a bit." He grabbed his phone and wallet, then sped off.

Chloe made her way to the car, the gun still pressed against her. She had no clue who was behind her, but she had one guess. Paul.
She sat in the passenger seat, and as her captor made their way to the drivers side, she took off her hat and laid it on the ground. A clue maybe?
"Now don't try to escape or anything. I'll just shoot you. And I don't want that."
"Curt?" How could it be?
"No. Paul. Are you that stupid? Curt Laupis? Paul Curtis? I just rearranged the letters to make a different name. And bought a wig. Nobody even looked twice. You are a moron. I still love you though."
Chloe gripped the armrests. She was dealing with a psychopath. And her life was on the line. "Where are we going?"
"To our new home. We will get married and have children and live the best life ever."
What was wrong with him? She didn't even want to be in the same vicinity as him. "Take me home please."
Paul laughed, "No way. Then you'll just run to that detective of yours. Bleh. No. Not a chance. You have a new life. With me."
~~~~~
Dominic burst into Chloe's place. "I brought pizza for lunch. I got away for a lunch break. Jack was really nice and let me have his. Come on out Chloe."
All he got was silence.
"Chloe?"
Nothing.
"Chloe!"
He tore through the house. She was nowhere in sight. He grabbed his phone and pounded down numbers. "Jack!"
"Hey, uh, why are you interrupting your lunch break to call me? I mean I always thought I was important but-"
"Chloe's gone!" Dominic paced the living room.
"Whoa, she can't be far. Text her." Jack's calm voice was not helping.
"I already tried. There was no answer."
"Okay. I'm calling in backup. You do the same. Question the security guards." And he hung up.
He called his family, "Grace, Chloe's gone!"
"On my way."
Click.
"Liv, Chloe's missing!"
"Oh my word. I'm coming!"
Click.
"Nicole, Chloe's missing!"
"The ambulance is already on their way, Jack beat you."
