Song Yaxuan noticed something was off about one of his classmates. It was the girl that sat across the aisle and one one seat in front.

She was always in his sight during class and he liked observing her because she always had a very happy and energetic personality and that helped give him a break from his idol life.

But recently she didn't have the same energy that she always had. Her friends used to go talk to her during breaks and now all she did was read or put her head down. Yaxuan noticed that she wasn't even eating during lunch time.

During lunch time everyone leaves the classroom. She noticed it stayed alone since she hadn't left the class during lunch for a few days. She put her head down after the bell rang, resting on her arms and facing the doors as she watched everyone walk out. She waited a few minutes until she was sure there was no one in the hallway and then she turned her face down and started silently crying.

Yaxuan walked into the classroom quietly. He heard quiet sniffles from the girl.

He crouched down next to her and stayed quiet for a while. The girl didn't notice.

"Are you ok?" Yaxuan finally decided to break the silence between them.

The girl quickly lifted her head up with a shocked look on her face and found Yaxuan looking straight at her.

"How long have you been here? You just came in, right? I didn't hear anyone come in."

"I came in a while ago, I was just sitting here-" he realized that could be taken the wrong way. "Well I didn't mean it in a creepy way, I was just thinking of what to say to you."

"I don't believe you. We've been in the same class for years and this is the first time you've talked to me."

"I was just worried, that's all. You haven't eaten yet, right? Eat this." He placed the sweet bread he bought on her desk.

"Why are you worried? We're not friends or anything. We have no connection to each other besides being classmates."

"Then let's be friends. I noticed your other friends haven't been talking to you lately, you can talk to me if you want." He gave her a smile hoping she would agree to his request.

"They haven't been talking to me because they don't want to make me sad. They've known me for longer and they don't know what to say so why do you think you'll know." Her tone had annoyance in it.

"Why, what happened? Are you ok?" he asked once again. His curiosity was bothering him but he knew he couldn't pry into her life.

As if on cue, her phone screen lit up with a message from someone.

It read, "Young Miss. Everything is prepared for your father's testament reading. I'll pick you up after school. Your mother has to sort things at the company so she'll be late. Pay attention in the rest of your classes."

The girl noticed Yaxuan reading the message. "Are you reading it?!? It's private!"

"I didn't mean to. I'm sorry," he paused a bit before continuing, "I'm sorry for your loss."

The girl's eyes started to get teary again and when she blinked, the tears rolled down her face.

"I'm sorry, please don't cry, please don't cry."

He pulled his chair next to her and sat down facing her.

"Actually, it's ok to cry. Go ahead and cry, I won't tell anyone so don't worry."

The girl started to cry again so Yaxuan moved closer and hugged her.

She cried for a while while Yaxuan just sat there comforting her.

"Hey," he said with a soft and quiet voice. "You want to know something? I've liked you for a long time and always seeing you happy has made me happy, so please be happy."

She lifted her hand and wiped her tears. Yaxuan noticed a bracelet that had a tiny logo engraved in it. He recognized it as the logo that was shown to the public when the two most successful companies in the city were united by marriage. They decided to merge the companies together and it has become a very large, successful business. The merging happened 18 years ago but everyone still talks about it. There has never been talk about any children from the couple.

Yaxuan was putting pieces together now. He formed the idea that she was the daughter that resulted from that marriage. It was making sense to him in his mind.

"Why?" the girl asked while looking at him.

"Because you've always looked so happy and you radiate happy energy and that makes me feel happy too."

"Really?" She sounded a bit doubtful because she didn't think anyone besides her friends ever noticed her. She always sort of blended in, going unnoticed by most of her classmates. Most of her classmates didn't even know her name.

"Yes really. I want to see you happy so let it all out now, everything's going to get better soon."

"Thank you," she said quietly.

"You didn't say anything about the other thing I said."

"What other thing?"

Yaxuan let go of the hug, put her hands on her shoulders, and turned her to face him.

"I like you." She just looked at him in shock and wasn't saying anything, Yaxuan chuckled, "say something."

"But- how- why- huh?"

"If you like me too then let's date. If not then we can be friends."

"But you're an idol. Wouldn't that hurt your career?"

"You didn't say no so I'm taking that as a yes."

He hugged her again and this time she hugged back and Yaxuan noticed a small smile on her face.

"Your smile is so pretty."
