Epilogue

You rushed back home and dashed upstairs, your father in tow, to the attic. You flicked the lights on and squinted as your eyes adjusted to the light. And there he was, as you'd known he'd be.

You covered your mouth and nose as the putrid smell of a rotting corpse filled your senses and felt tears brim at the edge of your eyes as you shook the figure. No answer.

"Kazuha- I'm sorry." you breathed as you fell back towards your father, who held you in place while tears of his own ran down his cheeks.

Kazuha's wrists were mutilated, and eyes lifeless as his expression was twisted into one of shock as he hung from the ceiling. His skin was a pale, ghostly white as his soulless eyes gazed down at your moist (e/c) ones.

Beidou, Ganyu and Xiao had followed you up here and their eyes too, widened in shock as they gazed upon the corpse of the sole survivor of the Kaedehara family.

Your father brought the corpse down from where it hung, and you hugged the corpse to your chest, tears running fiercely down your cheeks. You'd been so naive. It was your fault Kazuha was gone. All yours.

Unbeknownst to you, someone was standing behind you. A warm, white figure. The soul of the one who'd been known as Kaedehara Kazuha by one and all in the short span of his lifetime.

Even though his death had been caused by your leaving, he did not despise you for it. He loved you. He always would. He placed a hand on your shoulder, even as he knew you wouldn't be able to see or hear him nor feel him. He wrapped his fading arms around you and smiled.

"If rain suddenly starts pouring down on your skies, know thats my bomb blowin' away your tears~" he started as he tried to wipe your tears away.

"If you feel a light breeze suddenly rustle through your hair, know thats me thinkin' of you everywhere~" he sang. On the other side, you felt a small breeze run past you, even though the attic was completely closed off from the outside.

And then, he vanished into thin air. Kaedehara Kazuha was no more.
