Gemma and I instantly click and I decide I like her a lot. She has this charm to her and she's incredibly witty. We began making small talk and discussing what we want to do after uni. Next thing you know, we're sitting in front of the TV, watching a cliché romantic movie, stuffing popcorn into our mouths.

"This is terrible." She laughs, gobbling another handful of popcorn into her mouth.

"So terrible." I take a sip from my coke, also taking a handful of popcorn.

"She's a proper pain in the arse. Why not just make your mind up about who you want to be with," She says referring to the main character.

She has this sarcastic personality to her that seems so familiar, but I can't put my finger on it.

"My family has this 'Sunday Dinner' thing every Sunday if you want to come, I really don't want to be a loner, I'll just be a downer," She breaks the comfortable silence. "Mum won't mind. That is, if you're not afraid of a little competition. " She winks.

"Competition?"

"Family games." She laughs rolling her eyes. "Don't worry, no running about."

"I would love to go."

.....

"I'm not sure what to wear to this 'family dinner'," I say to Gemma, looking through my drawer.

"Just something comfy, not like Ashton Kutcher is gonna be there." She giggles. "God, I wish though."

"Who doesn't?"

"Fair point, miss Montez." She bumps her hip against mine as she applies a bit of mascara.

I hold up a white summery dress, that rests just above my knees. It's quite loose, with a type of silk material around the middle.

"Go on, try it. I think you'll look gorgeous." Gemma smiles.

I try on the dress, and as soon as I turn around Gemma is busy bowing. "Thank you, thank you. Gemma, the new upcoming stylist." I laugh and she giggles.

There's just something so familiar about her.. what is it?

.....

"Stop fidgeting! Everything will be okay." She says as we near her family home. "I don't get why you're so nervous. It's only dinner." She smiles curiously.

"I always get nervous before things like these." I explain as she nods her head.

"Well, alrighty then. We're here." We stop in front of a house, quite modern but classic as well. "Everything will be dandy."

I can see myself becoming great friends with Gemma, she's just a loveable person and I enjoy her company. Gemma knocks curtly in the door and opens it, signalling for me to come through.

"Mum?" She yells out.

"In here muffin." Her mother calls out from outside and we walk towards where the voice came from.

"I hope you don't mind, I brought a friend." Gemma smiles, gesturing towards me.

"Of course not! Nice to meet you..." she trails, leaving me to complete her sentence.
