Chapter 1: Milkshakes and Pancakes

CALLI'S POV

I was dreaming of streaming with my friends, Gura, Ina, Ame, and Kiara when...

"Get out of bed Calliope! It's time for scythe swinging practice!" a voice says.

"Ugh, no. 5 more minutes Death-Sensei." I plead.

"No, you've been sleeping all morning." says Death-Sensei.

"But isn't that what mornings are for? Now if you'll excuse me I have a date with my she-GUH!?"
I was interrupted as I get smacked by a cold, boney hand.

"Do I need to smack you again?"

I sigh, "No Death-Sensei, I'm up." I groan.

"Good, now get your scythe." Looks like it's time for another grueling day of training.

After hours of training, I found myself sitting in bed with nothing to do. The Underworld can be so boring at times. I wonder what the others are up to. Maybe I'll go visit them.
I open a portal with my scythe and step through to greet my friends.

KIARA'S POV

"I wonder what Calli is up to." I mutter to myself.

"You sure are attached to her aren't you Kiara?" Gura asks.

"Of course! Why wouldn't I be? She's so cool and sexy. God I would love to be her scythe any day of the week. I start to drool whenever I think of her."

"Kusotori, shut up." I hear a familiar voice say.

I spin around. "CALLIIIII!" I yell as I run towards her. I jump up into her expecting her to catch me, but she just moves to the side as I fall face first on the floor.

"Owwwwwwwwww why didn't you catch me?" I pout with tears in my eyes.

"I don't know, why do I have to catch you?" Calli demands.

"Because you love me." I say, causing Calli to blush. "Anyways, what are you guys doing?"

"All of us are taking a break from streaming today and we were planning on going out to eat together. I was just about to call you." Ina says.

"Well I'm here now, and it would be nice to spend time with you guys. We haven't spent time together in a bit." Calli responds.

"Then it's settled! We're going out to eat!" Gura says excitedly while wagging her tail. I smile. I'm so happy that I met these wonderful girls that I can call my friends.

CALLI'S POV

After a 20 minute walk, we arrive at a restaurant called Milkshakes and Pancakes.

"I wonder what they serve here." A curious Ina says.

"It's literally called Milkshakes and Pancakes, what else would they sell?" Ame asks

"Well I don't know, they could be selling anything." Kiara says.

"Just ...shut up Kusotori."

"Anything for you my Calli." Kiara flirts and lays her head on my shoulder.
I blush. "L-let's just find a table." I stammer.

"Welcome to Milkshakes and Pancakes what would you like to order? We have milkshakes... and uh... well...pancakes." the waitress says. After a very hard decision we all decide to have some milkshakes and pancakes.

After a filling meal...

"Ahhhh those pancakes were sooooo good!" Gura said.

"They really were good." I responded.

The waitress comes up to the table with a giant milkshake with 2 straws and hands it to me. "I hope you two enjoy our signature Lover's Milkshake." She winks and walks away.

"Uh wait I think you got the wrong table!" I stammer.

"Oh Calli, won't you share this milkshake with me?" Kiara asks, looking at me.

"I-uh." I'm blushing so hard! Did the others take us here on purpose?!

Kiara grabs the drink from my hands and flutters her eyes waiting for us to drink together.
I blush hard. "God your beautiful Kiara...I-I MEAN JUST DRINK IT ALREADY KUSOTORI!" I stutter.

Me and Kiara start drinking the milkshake and our eyes meet. She has such beautiful eyes. I get lost in them every time I look at her. Next thing I know I see a flash of light and Ina has taken a photo of us together.

"INAAAAAAA!" I yell. Everybody else laughs and I eventually join in.

A couple hours later as the sun was setting, we all said our goodbyes as we prepared for our streams tomorrow.

"Wait!" Kiara stops me before I go into the portal back to the Underworld.

"I just wanted to say......um." she looks down at her feet, too embarrassed to say anything
My heart is pounding out of my chest. She's so close. I can't think straight!

"Calli, I'm sorry about what happened at the restaurant earlier."

"It's okay Kusotori, it was pretty funny." I say.

"Oh thank goodness! I was scared that you would be angry at me!" She sighs.

"Actually, you do owe me one thing." I say.

"Oh, and what would that b-" She's cut off by me kissing her on the lips for a couple seconds. Afterwards I break the kiss and say, "Your so beautiful Kiara. I love you."

"Wait....did I really just do that! Oh my god I'm so sorry! I don't know what came over me!"
But just as I try to explain myself, Kiara wraps her arms around my neck as a gesture to keep going. After what seemed like forever, the kiss was broken.

"I love you too Calli. I've been waiting to hear those words forever." Kiara says and leans in for another tender kiss.
