NARRATOR'S POV.

Her eyes hurt, probably because she had been staring at the computer screen for hours. She needed a break but it was the last thing she could think of.

She decided to take her eyes off the screen for a minute, rubbing her eyes as she looked around to see her  colleagues were all also working their butts off.
Her eyes went to the huge window that occupied the whole wall and it  was already dark out. The time displayed at the bottom of the computer screen read that it was already few minutes after midnight.

She heard a loud groan and the sound of cracking bones, Susan turned to look to her left to see Joe stretching while slowly standing up from his chair. It looked like he was trying to start a new dancing style.

Everyone looked exhausted and tired, their movement sluggish and robotic, but they can't stop. Their existence basically depends on it as tomorrow was the review. Every six months, they put together all the data and every projects and charts and make a review for the Boss of the company.

Everyone on Susan's team took all their orders from his personal assistant. Mr Samson Yuvraj, a smartly dressed man with thin framed glasses resting on the bridge of his nose. Samson Yuvraj works for the boss. The Boss. The King of Kings Industries, he was basically like an Emperor who rules over his Empire with an expressionless face, a cold glare and an iron fist. Marcelo King.

Everyone fears Mr Marcelo King. Everyone. Including his 'partners' and members of his board. There was also a myth that if his eyes met yours, your soul becomes broken. Susan didn't know how true that was but she wasn't willing to find out. She could tell from the way the air in the room that thickens when he walks past or the aura the seems to surround and envelope him. Even a blind man could tell that Marcelo King was a man to be feared.

"You guys go home,I'll wrap things up here" Susan spoke up after a while. Everyone was exhausted and there was only little work left.  She could tell that everyone was on edge  meeting the boss tomorrow, she was too but Susan didn't have a position on the team that would attract the boss's attention thus she always did well to blend into the background.

It wasn't that she was not good at her job, she was. But she was more like a steady person the people on her team relies on to get a work done and have their backs.

Joe looked at her in amusement but he wasn't surprised, this wouldn't the first time Susan would decided to cover for them.

"Are you sure?" Aisha, her colleague and closet friends asked.

"Yeah, we just need to wrap up, that shouldn't be difficult to do"She assured them.

After a few minutes of persuasion which was only extended basically outof courtesy, they had  immediately thanked her and headed for the elevator. Joe was the first to rush out not willing to take any chances on the off chance that she changes her mind, not that she would but it didn't hurt to be careful.

After few period working she decided to head to the break room for some coffee and a bagel. she was hungry and exhausted and couldn't wait to kiss her bed.

Susan didn't cover for her colleagues purely out of good will. Anytime she'll call in sick or request a leave, she gets its more easily than the others. After all she is a very hard working and reliable employee.

Heading out of the break room, she heard the elevator ding open. She wasn't sure if it was one of her colleagues or an intruder from a rival company, but the latter seemed far fetched. Susan realized that she was more tired than she thoughts. Her imagination tends to run wild whenever she was tired.

The company was one of the most protected building in the city. So if someone was capable and stupid enough to break into the Kings Tower she wouldn't be capable enough to face such foe.
