You hold Mei close as she cries into your shoulder.

Your mother let a tear trail from her eye as she saw Mei. She couldn't bear to see her like that.

Y/N: I know your story, you yourself was assumed to be just, a weird one.

Mum: I know. But Iris is my daughter!

Y/N: You know the sort of shit that Mei goes through every day. The way she is, you know what that is like.

Iris: You know what I think?

She says, coming out of her room.

Y/N: To be honest, I don't give two fucks what you think.

Iris: Who says that it isn't a facade?

Y/N: Let me guess, one to make me feel sorry so she can take me away.

Iris: You are feeling sorry for her... and leaving us for her.

Y/N: Maybe because you created a toxic environment of hate.

Iris: Everything was all okay before she came along.

Mei started to tear up even more. After all, Iris was right. Iris had gone from being casual, stealing your clothes, to punching your balls in, the only change, being Mei.

Of course, the way you saw it, it was her reaction to Mei.

You sat on the floor, Mei's face held close to yours. You held her on your lap, close. Away from Iris.

Y/N: Mei. It's gonna be okay.

Mei: How?

Your mother sighed with a tear in her eye. She never wanted Mei to leave, she had a duty to protect her daughter and had to do it.

Y/N: Well, if that's the way you want to be, you've lost both of us!

You yelled at Iris as you started up Mei's device.

Your mother couldn't help but shake and shudder at the words you spoke, meant for your sister, but applying to both.

You teleport through the depths of the universe, into another.

You landed on a mountain, one unfamiliar to Mei.

All you saw for miles were flat topped mountains. This wasn't either old universe. You had no clue where the hell you could have possibly been.

You see a road down below, and a car drive across it. It definitely looked nothing like a car in your world, nor Mei's.

Y/N: Shit. Where are we?!

Mei: Nothing I know. Damn.

Y/N: Fuck. Let's go down this mountain and see where it leads.

You do so and hold her hand as you do. You reach the bottom of the mountain, being already sunset, you had to find somewhere to take shelter.

Mei: Shit. My machine is broken, looks like it acted up and sent us here. If I had my tools, I could fix it.

Y/N: Shit. Where... and when.. are we?

You reached the woodland below. It all mostly looked a mix of a woodland you'd grown used to, as well as a few bamboo forests.

Y/N: The fuck?

You'd recognised the art style you saw, just not from where.

Y/N: Fuck. Where are we?

Mei: I have no clue.

You walked through the forest, still confused as to where you were.

You picked up a few sticks and laid them against a tree, you put a leaf shade over it. The leaves kept falling, and you kept on putting them up. Eventually, you had built a simple shelter, it wouldn't fit the both of you, but it would suffice, at least for her.

Mei: How are you going to fit? It's almost dark.

Y/N: I needed to fit?

You heartily question, putting your hands on your hips.

Mei: You do. Don't suffer for me. Please.

Y/N: This is probably the best we're gonna get. We'll get through. But right now, this shelter fits one person, and that person should be you.

Mei: Babe. Please. If... you die out there, I will never forget it. I'll never live it down.

Y/N: Mei. I'm gonna be fine. That stump is clear, I'm a light sleeper, I'll hear anything coming.

Mei: Y/N. No. You've done enough for me.

Y/N: I'm not letting my baby sleep outside.

Mei: Well nor I!

Y/N: Mei. It's okay. Just one night. Then we'll expand a bit. Tomorrow. Okay?

She shakes her head, she grabs you next, dragging you towards the shelter.

Y/N: Mei. I'm okay. Really, it's fine.

She crawled inside the crude entrance you made, regretfully. She put her hand out to you.

Y/N: I'm not going to fit, babe.

Mei: I have to try.

She got into the shelter, barely fitting herself.

Y/N: Babe. It's not going to work.

She held your hand and curled into a ball, laying on her side, facing you.

She really loves me.

You laid down outside of the entrance, only your hand going through the entrance. It gripped hers with little force and great warmth.

She smiled, feeling your grip on her hand.

You only wished your lips could fit through to kiss her on the lips.

You faced her the whole night, as it progressed, your fingers interlocked more and more.

We're really... cute. Or... Mei is.

You would never admit yourself to be cute. Unless of course, Mei said it as well.

You basked in the feeling, sleeping, your hand in hers, until morning.

You woke up, finally releasing the grip that you had on her hand. Your hand slipped out easily enough, and it was time to get something to keep you warm, apart from Mei's hand.

Mei squirmed around as she realised you weren't in her hold.

Y/N: Shhh. Mei. I'm still here.

You put your hand back on hers. She wakes up and scurries out of there, as she gets up she then hugs you close.

Mei: Thought I lost you!

Y/N: Mei. You okay?

Mei shakes her head. In yet another unfamiliar world, you were her only comfort.

Y/N: I promise. We're going to be okay.
