When I came to my senses, I realized I was a baby crying from just being born. My short arms felt cramped and my lungs were going fast taking my first breaths of air. It seemed like I hadn't breathed for years. With my squinted eyes I tried to look at my surroundings and noticed a woman near me.
Nurse: congratulations duke and duchess~ it's a beautiful girl~
Mary: Thankyou~ you see that Fern, a beautiful girl. You were worried over nothing.
Fern: how could I have not been worried, (sigh) just the thought that something could've happened to you and the baby, worry's the shit out of me.
Mary: Fern?! Language!
Fern: the baby can't hear that well Mary. At least not yet. Heh, but I'm glad it's over now.
I can hear. Perfectly fine I might add. A duke and a duchess huh. Well at least I'll live comfortably. And they're names are Mary and Fern.
Mary: Scariest moment of your life?
Fern: Since marrying you, yes.
Nurse: hehe. . .
Mary: AH. Ok ok fine, be that way. Laugh now. You won't be doing that when you have to change the baby!
Nurse&Fern: . . . .
Mary: Exactly!
It seemed like both my parents had a good sense of humor and before I knew it, my body was giving a little noise like a laugh.
Mary: she's laughing? Oh my, our cute little girl is already laughing. This a sign that she's gonna grow up to such a happy woman! Praise the gods!
That's right, I almost forgot about god there. My job was to just live my life and wait for gods sister to kill me. I don't even know her name. Do I even need to? It's unnecessary thinking for now, so we'll just let it go.
With me being born my mother Mary and father Fern, seemed to be very happy. The house I was to grow up in was very nice and spacious, so my life would definitely be comfortable. Thanks to the maid I had I was also comfortable, but for the most part mother was there to change my diaper, feed me, help me crawl, and talk. I learned to talk at a very young age since with my previous life and asked for a tutor as soon as I could. This time I wouldn't waste my time dilly dallying and I would become a smart adult capable of protecting and providing for myself. My parents were a bit surprised, but they even allowed me to learn sword fighting. I was only a little girl, but thankfully with the preparation I had, I was able to grow up being one of the smartest eight year olds my tutors had ever seen. To my parents downfall the one thing I refused to do, was to go to tea parties and social gatherings. I never liked people that much even in my past life, so it wasn't really a problem.I just stayed home and practiced my sword skills and read my books. I was however forced to go to one tea party. It was a small debutant ball for the little children and parents to get together. I was eight at the time and when I walked in, it was a beautiful garden with a variety of flowers.
Mary: Don't wander off too far Lilith. We trust you to go on your own, but don't get lost.
Lilith: yes mother~
I went off on my own and headed towards the garden. As I walked around the garden I noticed a little gazebo with a table and tea set out. I walked into the gazebo and sat down on one of the chairs there.
Lilith: (sigh) I'm so tired. . . (mumbles) I didn't even want to go to this stupid thing. Why could god just put me in a less- (gasp!) Oh my goodness! I completely forgot about god!
God said that if I ever need anything I could call him. Maybe I could do that now! I clasped my hands together and shut my eyes.
Lilith: god. I know your there and you can here me. Get your butt here. I'm lonely and I need someone to talk to. Also, bring food. I'm too scared and lazy to get some!
I sighed with the relief that I had remembered god's message from before. It had been eight years since I had seen him. Hopefully he didn't look too different. A few minutes passed by and I even poured myself a cup of tea. It wasn't hot, just room temperature, but I didn't mind it. I was already used to that kind of tea from convince stores and such. As I drank my tea, suddenly a small smoke began to roll on the floor. It came onto the gazebo and I began to worry.
Lilith: g-god?
The smoke got onto the chair and table and crept back in my chair. I began to squirm and I squeezed my dress. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to scream, but before I could, someone put there hand on my mouth.
God: you wouldn't want to do that now would you? Miss me?
Next to me was god wearing a nice suit to fit in the time line I was living in. He gave a smile, but in return I gave a giant pout and jumped out of my chair to give him a hug. When I did, he fell back onto the gazebo floor with me in his lap.
Lilith: How dare you! You scared the heck out of me! Next time come as a person. Not a smoke!
God: but it's fun as a smoke. Ah- you wanted some sweets? They're on the table.
I looked back at the table and noticed the cake and macaroons. I got off of god's lap and sat back on the chair. As I grabbed a macaroon and was about to eat it, I glanced over to god as he stared at me with a pouted face.
Lilith: w-what?
God: I liked it when you sat on my lap~ can you do it again~?
Lilith: eh why?
God: it looked like I was an older brother. I like that feeling~
Lilith: what about your sister?
God: she's my older sister. Ah and I guess I have't given you any names yet huh? Her name is Talia and mine is- oh, never mind actually~
Lilith: what? What about your name? You about to say it?
God: I won't tell you~ . . . Unless I get to sit down with you in my lap.
Lilith: ?! (sigh) fine.
I got up and let god sit down, then he picked me up and set me on his lap. When I looked at his face he had a big smile on his face then rested it on my head and put his arms around my waist.
Lilith: so what is your name!
God: it's Samuru~ [from now on we'll be calling him that]
Lilith: Samuru? Like. . . "God" ("his name is God" means Samuru is Japanese)
Samuru: mhm~ Samuru.
Lilith: (sigh)
I gave a sigh then, rested my head on Samuru's shoulder.
Samuru: are you ok?
Lilith: no. I'm tired and upset that I had to come here. I want to go to bed.
Samuru: then go ahead~ I'll be right here.
Lilith: . . . o-okay. . .
I dug my tiny face into Samuru's shoulder and closed my eyes. Then after a few minutes it went blank and fell asleep.
When I woke up, I realized that I was no longer sitting down. Instead, Samuru was carrying me while walking. I squinted around my surroundings and realized he was walking into the tea party. I murmured and gripped on his sleeve and he looked down on me.
Samuru: you're awake?
Lilith: (murmurs) nooo~ don't take me back~
Samuru: we were at the gazebo for two hours. I'm sure your parents are worried. I'll see you again soon, so don't worry.
Lilith: no, don't go. Can't you stay with me.
Samuru walked into the middle of the party and mother and father came running over.
Mary: Lilith!? Goodness we were worried sick!
Samuru: I apologize for her being gone. She was at the gazebo in the garden maze and I found her. She fell asleep.
Fern: thank you so much for finding her. She tends to go off on her own. It's like she wants to be an adult already and leave. Heh
Samuru: of course~ I understand. Take care then.
Lilith: wait!
As I was set down, I grasped my dress and began to tear up. Samuru gave a grin then bent down to me.
Samuru: (whisper) at home, there's a letter under your pillow. Read that and then you'll know when I'll come back. Don't pray to me before that ok?
Lilith: (sniff) fine. . .
Samuru: have a good evening then.
Samuru bowed then left the area of the tea party. I stood there watching him go back in the direction we came until I couldn't see him any longer. Then, I told mother that I wanted to go home, but she said to endure it a little longer. She told me to go see my father and that hopefully he was at the training center where some of the men had gone on their own. There I could practice with a sword while I wait. With an excited look on my face I ran off to the direct of the center I saw from when we came in. A woman then came up to mother with a worried look.
woman: Is it alright to have your child running off like that.
Mary: She should be fine. My girl can take care of herself a lot more than we realize.
I ran to training area as fast as I could to see if father was there. When I arrived at the stables I heard laughter faintly and continued to follow the noise. As I followed the noise I got out of the stables and saw father with a group of men smoking. Ugh. I hated smoking. I did it in my past life and ended up with half a black lung at the age I died. Yet again, with the route I was going, I think I might end up smoking the stress away when I get older. But I refused to let father die on me young. I walked up the men and straight to father. When he saw me he gave a surprised look and gasped.
Fern: Lilith? What are you doing here.
Lilith: mother told me I could come here since I was bored over there.
Fern: what about the children you can play with over there?
Lilith: . . . No! Can I see that?
Fern: the cigarette? You can't sweetie~ it's bad for your health.
Lilith: you're smoking it? I won't do it, I just want to see it.
Fern: ah- (sigh)
Fern gave a concerned look then glanced towards the other men. He gradually gave me the bud. I then stared at it for a second then walked out the door a few feet away from the men. I threw the bud on the stone floor then stomped on it to take the light out.
Fern: Lilith!?
Lilith: by the time you're old, all your lungs will be black! Smoking isn't good! You'll get addicted to the drug in it!
Fern: Lilith? Where did you learn such a thing?
Lilith: I taught it to myself! Now hurry up and let's go home! I'm tired and this place is boring! All this girly stuff is too boring!
With that I stormed off into the front of the house to wait to go home.
