"Please, please spa-!!"

Thud!

You retrieved your gun attached with a silencer after successfully plunging a bullet into a man's head. He laid on the ground, soaking in his own blood.

Taking off the glove on your right hand, you flipped open your phone and messaged Two.

-------------------------------------------------------

Finished. Come in after 5 minutes.  [You]

[#2]  Roger.
-------------------------------------------------------

Two was in charge of cleaning after your mess and disposing of the body, although the latter was sometimes done by Three instead.

You could do the job yourself, but it was too cumbersome. The aftermath of a job was much more tedious and time-consuming than the job itself.

You put your gun back in the backpack before jumping out the window, where you came from. Down below was your black bike, patiently waiting for your return.

Driving away, you took out another phone. It was a one-time-use burner, perfect for discarding all records.

Calling the only saved number on the phone, you stated, "Complete."

"There wouldn't be any traces left, I assume?" the unknown voice over the other line replied.

You stayed quiet for a bit.

"No," you said, biting your lip before adding, "Dad."

The man across the line went quiet before speaking in a threatening voice.

"I thought I taught you not to bring up any titles that could give away identities? Do you need to be trained again?"

You silently grit your teeth before answering, "No, sir."

With that, the call cut off from the other line. You felt your emotions get the best of you, as you drove faster and threw the phone back, making it shatter to pieces.

You couldn't bring yourself to go home like this. Turning quickly to the right, you headed for Musashi Shrine - your comfort place that never failed to calm your heart.

---

"Hey! Gather round!! We're starting the meeting!!" Draken yelled at the rowdy Toman members, scattered in the parking lot below the shrine.

The teens all started running up the stairs to get in line. But upon reaching the top, they saw someone already there.

In the middle of the shrine, you stood in your casual clothes, sweeping the fallen autumn leaves with a broom. Earbuds in your ears, you focused on the repetitive swishing motion.

"Who the fuck is that guy?" one kid whispered, only getting shrugs from others.

"Hey! The hell ya' think yer' doin'? Don't ya' see us Toman members?" another kid yelled, but it didn't reach your ears. "This bitch-!"

"What's with the ruckus, you lot!" Draken yelled, irked at the mess. They were supposed to be in straight lines. What were they doing?

Glancing up, he saw a familiar back, standing with a broom. His eyes widened, just as they met with yours.

"Draken..?" you questioned, pulling an earbud out. You then looked around at the numerous Toman members, all staring at you. Huh?

"...y/n, could you, uh, move, a bit?" Draken said awkwardly. You stared at him before quickly scurrying to the side, cursing yourself for being so caught up with your thoughts.

"Now, stand straight you guys!" Draken yelled to the members once more. The sea of teens parted both ways, leaving the stone path for their leader to pass.

As the kids all bowed 90 degrees, they shouted, "Good work, President!!"

Walking up from the stairs, you first saw Mikey with Draken behind. You were just about to head home, before seeing Takemichi trailing behind them.

"Takemichi?!" you blurted out in surprise, drawing the kids' attention once more. Mikey stared at you wide-eyed, before continuing to walk.

"Y/n?!" Takemichi whisper-yelled. Draken lightly pushed him on the shoulder to keep walking.

Once the three stepped onto the higher platform, the rest of the members straightened their backs. Mikey started his speech as Takemichi jogged over to you, while a purple-haired kid followed.

"Y/n, what are you doing here? I thought you had a study meeting at a cafe?" Takemichi whispered, tilting his head.

You simply smiled and replied, "It ended early. I come here to clean the place up from time to time. What about you? You should be home by now."

Takemichi flinched when you inquired him, nervously avoiding your gaze. He really sucked at lying, unlike you.

You sighed, before patting his shoulder.

"Your friends called you, right? It's fine, just tell me when and where you're going next time," you said before turning to the other kid behind. "For now, why don't you introduce me to this guy?"

"Oh, right!" Takemichi remarked. "Mitsuya, this is my housemate, y/n. He takes care of me all the time. Y/n, this is Mitsuya. He's the captain of the 2nd division."

As Mitsuya gave you a light bow, you grinned and said, "I'm y/n. Please take good care of Takemichi for me."

He nodded, a bit... shy? He quickly cleared his throat before saying, "Draken told me to explain the situation with Moebius. Uh, they're a biker gang that..."

As he continued his explanation, you tightened your grip on the broom. You didn't expect this shrine to be the meeting place of Toman. You'd usually come by early in the morning - no wonder you never crossed paths.

'I need to be more careful,' you silently resolved, before quickly turning at the sudden change of air current.

Thwack!
