11 - Sandwich! - 11

Thwack!!

The sound of your wooden broom coming into contact with a heavy kick echoed through the premises. Everyone turned to look at you, Takemichi jumping at the large foot so close to his back.

"Hah?" Pa-chin remarked with an irk mark, clearly not happy with you blocking his kick.

You just narrowed your eyes at the new thick-n-thin duo.

"The fuck's your problem, you shit!" Pe-yan roared, rounding up his fist for a running punch.

"Stop it, Peh!" Draken shouted a second late.

You had already twisted your broom around the guy's arm and sent him tumbling forward, landing face-first into the dirt. It was your little consideration, as the pavement would've hurt much more.

"Why you-!" Pa started but got pushed back by Mitsuya.

"Cut it out, brainless! The fuck is your problem!" Mitsuya yelled, standing in front of you protectively.

"That Takemichi or whatever did our Kiyomasa in, that's the problem!" he yelled back, getting up. "Now that I look at it, the broom guy is the one that sent him to the hospital!"

"That problem was already resolved on that day, Pa," Draken affirmed, threateningly lowering his voice. "Are you objecting to Toman's decision?"

Pa flinched back, before clicking his tongue to step away with Pe. As they headed towards Mikey (who held an irksome face), Draken and Mitsuya apologized instead and explained Pa's story.

You kept silent through the entire thing. Not because you were angry, but because you didn't care. If they tried to hurt Takemichi, you'd hurt them - it was that simple. Since the two didn't seem interested in Takemichi anymore, they were off your hook - for now.

However, your muteness made the others nervous. It appeared that you were still mad, which wasn't really the case. Mitsuya and Draken kept glancing at each other, trying to form a plan to lighten your mood.

But before they could form anything, Mikey stood up to announce their declaration of war on August 3rd.

As everyone erupted in passionate war cries, you smirked at the teenage dream. Mitsuya and Draken let out a sigh of relief at your smile. Whatever it was, you weren't mad, and that's all they wanted.

You were about to pick up Takemichi and head home when Mikey made his way to you. He had a big smile on his face, practically bouncing with each step.

"Y/n!" he called, hopping on you like a sloth would a tree. You stumbled a bit before giggling.

"What are you doing, Manjiro!" you chuckled, grabbing his back to keep him from falling. He widened his eyes, looking up at you with sparkles glittering. You called him Manjiro, and he liked it.

"Clinging to you, what else!" he replied, laughing even louder.

As you focused on ruffling the fluffy blond of your sloth, a lot of people were staring at you. They hadn't seen Mikey turn so bright just by being in someone's presence, not even Draken. It was an intriguing sight - who were you?

But amongst the others, there was also Takemichi, slowly growing jealous. He was so used to having your full attention - now you cared more about Mikey than him? Unbelievable!

"Hiyahh!!" he yelled, jumping on your back. You wobbled around even more, barely standing.

"Takemichi, wai-! Urpph!" you said, choking under Takemichi's arms around your neck.

"Takemitchy! Get. Off!!" Mikey shouted.

"No! He's my roomie!!" Takemichi fought back.

As the two bickered on, you whimpered out, "D-Draken, Mit-suya!! Help..!!!"

The two looked at each other before mischievously smiling. Turning to look back at you, they started rolling up their sleeves.

"N-no. No no no, wait! Stop-!!" you tried, before tumbling back from two more kids colliding into you.

Now you laid under a group of laughing boys, clothes all dirtied and face planted in the ground. But hearing them enjoy themselves, it was all worth it.

You just wished for it to last.
