Kazuichi stumbled into his and Gundham's apartment, he had been sober for 14 days, but yet again, he drank.
Gundham pleaded for Kazuichi to stop, he tried so hard and it was all.. For nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
He felt like a failure.
He wanted to be normal, not an alcoholic like his father.
Gundham was sat on the couch, he quickly noticed something was wrong, and so, he got up and tilted his head.
"Is something the matter..?"
Gundham asked, Kazuichi hiccuped before breaking into sobs.
"I'M SO SORRY!!"
Kazuichi shouted through sobs, Gundham held him in his arms as the couple fell to the floor.
"Did you drink.."
Gundham asked, Kazuichi slowly nodded before backing up as if Gundham was going to hit him.
"Hey, Kazuichi."
Gundham started.
"Please, calm yourself. I am not going to injure you."
Gundham slowly crawled over to Kazuichi.
Kazuichi would simply continue to sob, as Gundham hugged him tightly.
Gundham sighed and played with Kazuichi's hair.
"Kazuichi."
Gundham said sternly, it was oddly calming when he said his name like that.
The way Gundham said it was stern, but not blunt or threatening.
Not in an angry tone, not in an impatient tone, a calm, collected, soft tone.
One that only Gundham could imitate.
"Please. I am not mad, I promise you have nothing to fear, you're doing so well, and you have to take things slowly, otherwise it'll hurt your body."
Gundham put both of his hands on Kazuichi's shoulders.
Kazuichi nodded slowly, pulling Gundham into a hug.
"Don't worry, It'll surely stop. Just.. Drinking so much then suddenly stopping can kill you. Quite literally. So take it slow, alright?"
Kazuichi nodded, making Tanaka smile softly.
"Please do not be so hard on yourself."
He ruffled Kazuichi's hair, and soon enough Kazuichi cracked a smile.
"Thanks for that, Gundy. Ya' always know how to make me feel better."
Kazuichi smiled, Gundham nodded.
"It's not a problem. It's just human decency— A-although I am not a mere human."
Gundham smirked.
"Gah, you're so full of yourself."
Souda giggled, playfully, and softly punching Gundham.
"Gahh! How dare you attempt to injure me!"
Gundham was dead serious, he was so serious with the way he talked, and though of himself, that it made Kazuichi roll on the floor and burst into laughter.
