**TW for this chapter. There are mentions of suicidal thoughts. This is also a little angstier than my other chapters, but it's not really sad. It's really soft, actually. Enjoy!!**

"I take back what I said earlier about you not needing to apologize tonight. You're an asshole for making me wait."

And that was the best part of it all: watching how tense she was on the Uber ride home, squirming in the backseat, Alex holding her wrists to make sure she didn't touch herself.

Alex slowly lifted the tiny black dress over her head, touching her all over as he slid the fabric up her torso.

"Lay back," he said, gently pushing her chest. "I'm going to fuck you now. Slowly. While I tell you everything I love about you. And then I'm going to make you come until you can't anymore. Okay?"

She nodded, her eyes big and blue and piercing.

"Okay?" he asked again, frustrated at her silence. "Say it."

"Yes, that's perfect, yes."

"Good," he said, pushing himself into her with one swift thrust. She stifled back a moan but the pleasure was written all over her face, Alex doing everything in his power to keep his composure.

"I fell in love with you when we first met. I know I said that earlier and probably a million times before but I have known for years that I've loved you. Norma— I thought about taking my life. Several times. And I tried. But each time I'd think of you. I thought of your eyes and how they looked at me, how you looked at me like you needed me. I never felt that before, from anyone in any way. When I stayed at the motel is when it solidified and I was able to make sense of what I felt for you. Before you there was nothing in my life that would have kept me here and— are you okay?"

Alex stopped the second he noticed Norma's eyes becoming glossy.

"Yeah, yes," she sniffled. "Keep going."

"What is it, Norma?"

"Nothing. Please. I love you, keep going."

Her words were so soft and her voice was so mild it made his heart melt. But he wouldn't start again until he knew she was ready.

"I know how you look when you want to say something. So talk to me, baby."

"No, it's just... how did you know I needed you?"

"You always know a broken person when you meet one."

"Alex," she choked out in response, but then she realized she didn't have anything to say and he understood, checking her eyes before continuing, Norma giving him a little head nod.

"I knew you were kind, even though you used to piss me off to no end sometimes," Alex chuckled, breaking whatever tension was between them in that moment.

"I piss you off?" Norma giggled, fearing that if she laughed too hard it would hurt him.

"You used to," he said, kissing her lips softly. "You were soo needy. Sheriff this, sheriff that. I was like, if you need me around all the time, you might as well date me... I still can't believe you were the one to propose to me, Norma Bates."

"I didn't think we would be having this conversation right now," she responded, audibly faltering a little bit at the way he felt inside her. "But I'm glad we are."

"If you want to stop—"

"I know, Alex. But I don't," she said, beginning to rut her hips slowly. "I'm sorry you were so sad."

"It's over now," he said, holding her close, kissing her forehead. "I'm sorry if I ruined the mood."

"You didn't," she insisted, cupping her hands around his face as he loved her. "I love you and I love that you can talk to me. Please keep talking to me."

"I love you, Norma," he said, "and I am so glad you proposed to me."

"Maybe I am a little crazy?"

"I'm the one who said yes."

"I told you I'd sleep with you," she giggled. "I thought that's what you would've wanted."

"I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to. Of course I did, Norma. You knew I was attracted to you but you never knew I was in love with you."

"I wouldn't have said any of that stuff if I knew that then. But I'm glad I did."

"I know. I am too."

"You know I never loved anyone before you, right? Not Sam, Zack, anyone. But you- you never scare me. You never lose your temper on me. And you make me feel powerful. Nobody has ever made me feel like that before. And it's like you don't even have to try, you just do."

And with that, he picked up his pace and pushed into her a little harder. She moaned loud enough for him to know she was loving it but quiet enough to keep it just between them.

"Fuck, Norma, I love you so much," he said, smiling down at her. She clung to his back, nails sinking into sweaty skin, and smiled back at him.

"I love you too," she said softly. "Can I ride you?"

"What? Yeah, yes. Of course," he responded, a little surprised by her sudden request and the whirlwind of emotions swirling around their room.

Alex fell onto his back and Norma got on top of him, kissing him all over before slowly sinking down onto him.

"Fuck, baby, you feel so good," she croaked out, beginning to roll her hips gently. She kept herself balanced with a hand on Alex's chest, gazing into his golden eyes as she made love to him slowly.

"Shit, Norma," Alex groaned, running his hands down Norma's bare chest. He began kneading her breasts, holding them in place as she slowly bounced on top of him. But soon she picked up the pace and the power was in her hands, every single movement sensual and fluent and perfect. And Alex couldn't help but touch her, thumbing her clit as she brought the both of them closer to the edge.

Norma looked different than she did a few hours ago, now a beautiful mess above him. She was sweaty now, her platinum hair messy, her face flushed, makeup running slightly.

"Alex, can I come?" Norma panted, slumped over him now, clutching his chest and shoulders and trying to maintain any last ounce of composure she had left.

"Yes."

"Thank you," she mustered before burying her face into his chest and calling out his name in a series of pleasure-filled sobs as she began to pulse around him. Alex fell apart inside her only seconds later, holding her tight against his chest as the they lost control one another's arms.

They kept like that for awhile, Norma eventually falling next to Alex as the wine caught up with her and exhaustion took over. Neither had enough energy to do anything else besides hold one another, Norma suddenly so sleepy she fought to keep her eyes open so that she could look into her husband's eyes a little longer.

It didn't take Norma very long to fall asleep, but when she did she went with a soft smile her lips. Alex hated the idea of letting her go but he knew that if he didn't stop holding her that she would wake up shivering in the middle of the night and he couldn't bare the thought of it. He covered Norma in her favorite soft pink blankie, tucking it in below her so the air wouldn't creep in underneath. He dressed himself with boxers and a t-shirt, grabbing another blanket from Norma's blanket basket so he wouldn't wake her by sneaking under the covers that she rested upon.

Alex snuggled to Norma and listened to her snore softly for a few minutes before he joined her in falling asleep with a smile on his face, entirely content with the life they had made.
