"This is just so nice, Alex," Norma said, the dim lighting of the expensive dining hall enough to illuminate her smile. He couldn't get over how beautiful she looked and he told her about it every chance he got.

"Happy Anniversary," he said, holding his glass up. Norma did the same, wishing him a Happy Anniversary back and clinking her wine glass against his. She let out the softest giggle as a bit of red wine splashed onto the tablecloth. This year had been the happiest year of Norma's life, Alex's patience and kindness the saving grace she didn't know needed. And she wanted to tell him but wasn't sure how.

"I love you, Norma Bates," he added, finishing off his wine before wiping his mouth. His wife was still eating her $90 piece of steak that he found an odd sense of fulfillment in buying her. Alex loved treating Norma to dinner but as much as he wanted to, they couldn't afford dinners like this one too often.

"Don't go soft on me, Sheriff," she said with food in her mouth. She was tipsy at that point, her prim and proper demeanor shifting slowly throughout the course of dinner, her eyes glossing over with a sense of relaxation, every feature on her face except for her eyes somehow coming to a deep pink. Her senses were still in tact but he could tell she felt at ease by the way she talked freely— complimenting him suggestively, verbalizing every thing about him that she thought deserved to be noticed and appreciated.

"I wanna play pool with you," she said, standing up immediately the moment she swallowed the last bite of her steak.

"We have to pay the bill first, Norma. Then we can play pool."

"Oh, right," she giggled, plopping back down and scooting her chair back in, Alex unable to avert his gaze from her plunging neckline as she sat down. She kicked him playfully under the table when she noticed, though she was beginning to love when he paid special attention to her like that.

"Sorry, I-"

"Don't even dream of apologizing to me tonight, Alex."

The dress she wore that night was unlike anything he had ever seen her wear before: black, form-fitting, sleeveless, clinging tightly to every centimeter of her perfect skin. And she wore heels. Nude Stilettos that she somehow walked perfectly in until she had a flew glasses of wine in her system. She dazzled the simple look with a gold necklace and gold earrings Alex had spent an entire paycheck on.

And as much as Alex wanted to play pool with his wife, his desire to do so was beginning to succumb to his urge take her home and make hard, passionate, First Anniversary love to her in their bed.

The billiards room was just about as dim as the dining hall but several times quieter, hidden down an unfrequented hallway maze deep in the heart of the country club. It was entirely empty except for a teenaged boy sitting on his phone on a sofa facing away from the pool table. Alex guessed the he probably didn't even notice that they were there.

"Alright, Norma. Do you know how to play pool?"

"Yeah, I know all the rules and stuff but I can never hold the stick right."

"I'll teach you," he said, grabbing two sticks from off the wall and a chalk square. He tossed Norma the stick and she caught it with one hand. "I didn't think you'd catch that if I'm being honest."

"You're an ass," Norma laughed as Alex neared her from behind to place a soft kiss onto the nape of her neck. She faltered at the feeling, so soft and so gentle she immediately needed more, craning her neck so that it was now open for his mouth.

"Be nice to me, I'm sensitive," he said against her neck.

"Right," she laughed again, now backing up into Alex, her ass brushing against what he was trying to hide.
