Merlin/Emry's
I sat on the bench with Gaius looking at me as I ate salad. "I guess your food tastes have changed?" he asked.
"They had too, I mean I didn't have you too cook for me any more, Gaius. I had to get use to that over the years," I sigh as I offer some of my tea. Gaius took it from me and drank some.
"Thank you," he smiles.
"So, can you tell me now why you are back here? I mean I thought I would never ever see you again," I say to him.
"Merlin, I came back for one main reason, for you and Arthur. You needed to be young again and that was my mission or task as you could say. I missed you dearly Merlin," he smiled.
"I know, even when you was alive you missed me, I should have visited you more often," I say in a whisper.
"That is not your fault, Merlin You had to follow your destiny through and you had to protect him, even in his resting place. He was our king after all," Gaius smiles.
Flashback
"Oh Merlin, its great to see you," smiled Gaius.
"You too, Gaius. I'm sorry its been so long," I sigh.
"How much you have grown in the years I've not seen you. Our Queen has done a lot," he smiled.
"Indeed she has and I must thank her for what she has done, specially for my kind," I tell him.
"Yes, magic has been returned to the kingdom. For how long is a mystery but at least it has," smiled Gaius.
"I know, Gaius. I fear it won't last long but I'm glad I can go tell her now. She was one of the first people I wish I told apart from Arthur," I sigh.
"Indeed, go we will catch up later...we will catch up later Merlin?"
"Of course, Gaius. It's been too long to just leave again so soon," I smile before I leave Gaius's chambers and head towards Gwen's chambers. I was allowed through as everyone still remembered me, somehow.
I finally reached Gwen chambers and knocked and waited. A young looking girl servant anwsered the door and smiled. "Can I help you?" she asked.
"I wish to speak to the Queen," I smile at her.
"Who are you?" she asked.
"I'm old friend of hers."
"Name?"
"Merlin."
"I'll go speak to her," she says before she closes the door and I wait patiently. Finally I heard movement in the room and the door swung open to reveal, Gwen.
"Oh Merlin, I can't believe you are here. I thought I would never see you again," she smiles.
"I'm sorry, Gwen. That I never came in person to tell you of Arthur's death. I really didn't want to leave but my destiny has always been with Arthur even if he has gone," I tell her.
"Gaius would never tell me why, you wait for him when he is already dead," says Gwen as she beckons me in after we hug.
"I did everything I could to save him, Gwen. I have magic, from what Gaius told me you sort of guessed after what happened but I needed to come in person to say I do have magic and thank you for bringing magic back to this kingdom. In the end Arthur I think he understood why I lied to him for so many years, why I never told him. I hope he knows I only used it for him to protect him and this kingdom. I never used it for evil, I never would. I got told of my destiny and I was born to serve Arthur but my destiny will always be with Arthur as he is the once and future King. He will rise again some day, Gwen and I must be there when he does."
