Merlin's POV

"Why do we have to stop?" Gwaine complains.

"Cause I don't feel safe driving in the night and well you lot can't drive encase the police come. You probably would crash it anyway as you have no idea what you would be doing," I tell Gwaine firmly.

"We are also lost, even more so in the dark," adds Arthur.

"Thank you Arthur," I say nudging him.

"Well looks like I'm blaming you Arthur then!"groans Gwaine loudly as he gets out the car sighing with annoyance.

"Excuse me Gwaine?" Arthur says clearly offended as he gets out the car after him. I follow with Lancelot doing the same us all following him into the tree's.

"You heard me, Arthur!" he shouts.

"How can you...," Arthur trailed off.

"Now that you aren't king I can speak my mind freely. Right now this is your fault, accept it and get over it. But next time if you forget something your asked I may just have to knock some sense into you," smirks Gwaine.

"Gwaine," I say in shock.

"Sorry, maybe I'm being a bit harsh," he says more quietly.

"Alright come on, we just have to make a fire, keep us warm during the night. Arthur and Gwaine you know how to hunt I'm sure being dead hundreds of years won't make a difference as it probably hardly felt like nothing," I grin.

"I remember it like it was yesterday," says Arthur.

"Good as I'm not sure I can," Gwaine says slumping down against a tree.

"Your going with him if you do or not? I'm sure you can survive another half hour," I state to him.

"Who put you in charge?" asked Gwaine getting back to his feet.

"I don't know but none of you know what it's like here anymore," I say.

"Gwaine Merlin is right, besides he is our friend we should be happy to follow him," smiles Lancelot.

Gwaine sighs and shrugs his shoulders before looking at me, "You're right I'm sorry Merlin and sorry Arthur," he adds.

"It's alright come on, we want to eat as soon as possible. Then we can get a few hours kip. Then we head out as soon as it starts to get light."

Arthur's POV

"Merlin," I whisper into the night sitting up from the ground Merlin leaning against a tree.

"Yeah?" he asks looking at me.

"Aren't you going to sleep?" I ask him.

"No, I'm not really tired. Weird right, but I just not felt tired in a long time," he says as I get up and come towards him.

We both sit against the tree side by side. "Merlin can you tell me more about Merlin Arthur and that woman, what happened?" I ask him in hope he would tell me this time.

"I guess we have time now. Just remember Arthur it was still tough, for people with magic," Merlin begins.

"I understand," I nod knowing what awaited may not be all good, far from it.

Flashback

Merlin Arthur laid on the ground one blanket underneath him and one over him. I sat against the tree shivering, my eyes wonder to the other body next to him. After all that happened, I hadn't even got a name. She was so tired, I made us make camp and she drifted off straight away. I thought we might as well stay here for the rest of the day and night. I woke her up about an hour ago to eat before she went back to sleep and I made Merlin Arthur get some sleep too.

I don't feel tired, not tonight. I feel like I need to keep guard of Merlin Arthur and this woman I don't know a name yet, I'm sure I'll know soon enough in the morning maybe or I hope anyway.

I listen to the emptiness of the forest, not a sound for miles. Not even a sound of the trees blowing or insects moving. I get to my feet looking around. I've learned to hate the silence even if its the most peaceful sound ever.

Suddenly a spot a sudden movement to the left of my eye. I move my eye quickly and spot a man coming towards me, doing a good at that he is quite close and I hadn't even seen or felt him coming until now.

I watch closely making out I've not spotted him. He may think he is surprising me but I'm going to be the one to surprise him.

"Emry's the man whispered," as he approached. He knows my name...what my name is to the druids anyway that is never a good sign, never.

"I must warn you," he continues as he stops in front of me leaving a gap between us which I felt happy about, I don't know this guy so why would he get so close anyway?

"About what?" I ask confused but keeping my guard up all the time encase this is a trap.

"There is only one place you will be able to restore the young ladies magic," he says quickly.

"How do you know that? Do you mean the crystal cave or," I begin.

"No, not there. Only one person can help you, one place that will bring about what is needed. Your destiny has always been to protect the King but its also to bring about a new world, helping Gwen and by helping this girl you will do that," he says as he puts his messy black hair out his eyes.

"How do I know I can trust you? All what you saying could be a lie, I know my destiny is to protect Arthur but this woman?" I ask.

"Her name is Zara and yes Merlin it is. Time will show you just how much," he smiles softly before he darts back into the tree's disappearing out of sight about a minute later.

End of Flashback

"What did you do? Did you believe him, did you help Zara get her magic back?" I ask quickly.

"Well," Merlin cuts short as a loud noise cracks through the silence ripping straight through Merlin's voice altogether. My hearts starts to pound.

"What was that?" I ask with a worried expressing looking right at Merlin.

"I'm not sure but you better wake the other two. I got a bad feeling about this!"
