Chapter 01
Ellaine’s POV
“Okay kids! It’s time to say goodbye now. Sing our goodbye song!”
“Goodbye teacher, goodbye teacher..”
Class were dismissed. I made my way to the service. With the help of our driver.
“You stay here. We’ll wait for your two other companions. They’re the same age as you.”
“Okay.” I stayed. I was curious of the things around myself. I was in the front seat. I looked around the van. So huge. Then, I saw a huge circle attached to something beside me. I think drivers turn them around, side by side for controlling the van. There’s a button on the center. I pressed. I collapsed.
“Hey, Lia, wake up!’ I heard a child’s voice.
“Ellaine, put yourself together!”
When I opened my eyes, a teardrop fell directly on my left eye.
Ouch. It hurts. Really.
“I’m okay, I’m okay.”
“You sure you’re okay?”
“You don’t know me, I don’t know you. I don’t talk to strangers.”
“H-Hey Ellaine, this is one of your busmate, Richard. Richard Wellington.”
“Oh.”
“Hello there, Lia.”
“It’s Ellaine, little Richard.”
“But I want Lia! I want to call her that! Because it’s a cute name. It fits in with my name. Lia Wellington.”
I heard footsteps. My busmate who’s already the last one to arrive.
“Richard! Richard! Richard!”
“Woah. I also don’t talk to strangers like my Lia.”
“Richard, you’re too young for that.”
“But Mr. Driver, she’s like Aurora, the sleeping beauty.”
Aurora? Why does he know about beauties more than mine?
“Oh, Ellaine! You’re my busmate! Remember me? Jon? Jon Rickson?”
“Jon!”
“I’m so jealous.”
“Richard, we’re classmates.”
“We’re not friends. Lia’s mine. Only mine.”
“Okay, kids, sit down and I’m fetching you to your houses.”
I’m with these two boys. Oh my goodness, am I a boy too?
“Where is this Mr. Driver?”
“A vending machine!”
“No, Jon, no. (laughs) Richard, this is the gasoline station. We need to go here for our trip to be more enjoyable.”
“Oh, the gas smells good!”
“Jon, no, it smells bad!”
“Smells good!”
“Smells bad!”
They argue. I should argue with them too!
“It smells good and bad!”
“Really? Then we shouldn’t fight for it, Jon.”
The argue’s over already? Oh boo.
“Let’s play!” I said.
“What are we going to play?”
“Let’s go circling around on the couches. Let’s hold hands!” I recommended.
“Yeah!” the two agreed.
We’re going round and round, jumping up and down on the couches of the van. I hope Mr. Driver won’t mind.
I slipped.
“Is she dead?”
“No! LIA!”
“Don’t over react. She just slipped. It’s nothing serious. Just be careful.” Mr. Driver knows all!
“(giggles) It’s so fun to be with you guys. I love you two.” I said. I really love them.
“We love you too!” Jon said. Such sweet words.
“No! I am the only one who loves her!”
“No! WE love HER!”
“Okay, okay. I love you both, Richard and Jon. Take care, I’m going home now.” As I open the door, I heard noises.
“She said my name first! HAHA!”
“No, she said both of us!”
Then, I giggled. I like them. They’re so cute. But, why do I still hear them?
“Lia loves me first! See for yourself Jon!”
I better see it for myself.
As I walk near, the noise increases. Richard’s house is here, too? It means I can talk to him more! I’ve gone back to my house and rested for the rest of the day.
--
The next day, I went to my mother. She’s awake! I hugged her and said,
“Mom! You know Richard? He’s in the same room with mine!”
“WHAT?!” Then I saw my mom ran to my room and saw no one. She then came back to where I was standing and said,
“Ella, what you said was wrong. You should say, you’re on the same neighborhood. The room upstairs is only yours.”
“Oh, okay Mom.”
“Prepare for school dear. Let me wash and dress you up.”
I came to school with Jon and Richard again. But now, they’re bored. I walked to my classroom. And then when class was dismissed. Again, I see two faces. Then we sat quietly and waited. I asked what is wrong with them, they still have their heads down. Jon was the first to go home.
“Bye Jon!” He just waved.
Then it was Richard’s turn. He got down and turned facing me. He held out his hand and said, “Come, I will show you something.”
I held his hand and smiled. I feel like a princess. Then, we entered the brown gate. It was not his house. It was some storage room. It was filled with so many pets. I waved to his grandfather, the owner. Then, the grandfather left. It was the two of us left.
“You know this? It’s a rabbit.” Richard told me.
“Of course I know that. I’ve always wanted to have one.” Someday I’ll get that one!
“Right. Only a bit hard to feed.”
After touring me to his pet world, he faced me. Then, he said,
“I-I love you Lia, I’ve always wanted you to be with me.”
I froze. Didn’t spoke, didn’t breathe. A few seconds more then I’ll be dead. Of course I was still breathing. It’s just that my world stopped. Then, his face was close to mine.
Oh my goodness, WHAT?!
