Totally not a Squidmas special

First of all, this has nothing to do with the main story whatsoever. Second of all, I believe you'll need this key:

Y/n - Your name

I/c - Ink color

Let the Squidmas festivities begin!

Squidmas eve, the one night of the year (apart from Splatfests) where the square is lit up. You've always found the core values of Squidmas strange, but never really questioned it. You never really did much, you mostly hung out with your brother Army instead of doing anything. The "hanging out" consisted of: Squidmas curry making, Binging Squidmas movies (and questioning their logic), and generally being couch potatoes.

Maybe a few friends would come over, but it was mostly the two of you making fun of each other and being immature, normal sibling stuff, and never-ending arguments over the stupidest of things. You couldn't ask for more, family is the number one priority.

"Okay so we can all agree that Santa isn't real, it was just our parents trying to hide the fact that they were giving us the presents." Somehow, Your team and the Orange team ended up hanging out, the day before Squidmas eve. You heard a collective "Yeah" from the group except for Annaki, who still thought Santa was real, despite being an adult.

"I asked for a boyfriend when I was 14, I still hold a grudge against Santa" You cross your arms and pout, 4 years ago, the year you realized, Santa, was in fact, not real. "I had one of those 'I saw mom kissing Santa' moments when I was 11, woke up at 10 and saw mom kissing 'Santa' I found out it was dad later" Forge shrugs. She had seen some shit.

"Do you guys have any plans?" You ask the group. "Actually, uh..about that...." Army rubs the back of his head nervously. "I was planning to do something else this Squidmas instead of our usual get-together..." You figured this was going to happen sooner or later, not all good things last.

"Yeah, figured, we are getting a little old for that." Army gave you a surprised look. "Really? I expected more of a response from you" Army lifts his eyebrow in concern. "Wow Army, under-estimating how mature I am" You put your hands over your heart and fall back dramatically. The group laughs at your little stunt.

The rest of the group was visiting family and such, so you didn't exactly have anybody to be with during Squidmas, which was fine by you. Sometimes being alone is good, it helps clear your mind.

                                     ~Timeskip to later that day~

"I have a great idea!" Annaki throws herself onto your bed, you two normally hung out, and she would be leaving in a few hours. Best get the most socializing in before she needs to listen to her parent's drone on about 'career paths' "And what might that be, oh wise one?" You say, with a hint of sarcasm in your voice.

"You should hang out with him all day during Squidmas eve, to produce buildup, and then confess late at night!"

"That's so cliche"

"It's your best shot at the guy of your dreams"

"But what if, plot twist! He goes to see family"

"Have you heard him? He hates his family"

Annaki was putting up a good argument, but you weren't going to lose so easily.

"Fair, but everyone knows he thinks Squidmas is pointless"

"He thinks love is pointless, and yet you decided to love him from day one, you've had a crush on the guy since let's see when you were 14?"
