As Henry, Katharine and the Sheung siblings exited the Courthouse, the same thoughts were on the minds of all four kids: how long was this recess going to take and what would the verdict be? They were thoughts worth wondering, but ultimately Miao made the inquiry: "Henry, have you seen Beatrice Gore here at all?"
Beatrice Gore had been the one to find Ward in Antarctica. Everyone knew of the murder of Raoul Gore and his wife two decades prior and how their three-year-old daughter Beatrice had gone missing. Henry had never seen a photograph of her parents, so he had no resemblance to work off of.
"How can I?" Henry asked. "I have no idea what she looks like."
"Really?" Miao ran up to Henry on his left and said: "There was a picture of her in the Evening Star on page twelve. She is comparatively comely, but heavily scarred, angular and bedraggled."
"That is an awfully specific description." Commented Katharine.
"She's quoting our dad." Explained Ku, as he rubbed his right eye with a finger. "He used those exact words when he saw her picture. She was standing in front of a car, a Third Generation Cadillac Sixty Special."
Henry could only stare blankly while Katharine asked: "A what?" Even Miao had a bored expression upon her countenance.
"There!" Ku exclaimed, pointing at a black car parked near the Courthouse. "That's it! It has to be hers!"
Henry stared at the black car. It was the only car of its design on the street, there was no doubt that it was Beatrice's!
