How does he know?

Charlotte's POV

The next day...

I got up and then realised I was in Aston's house and that we were a couple... finally! I looked at my phone and had a missed call from the hospital. I quickly rang them back.

(C-Charlotte, R-Receptionist in hospital)

R-Hello, How can I help?

C-I had a missed call. Charlotte Thompson. Granddaughter of Mary Jackson. Is she ok?

R-Ah yes. I'm so sorry. Your grandmother died in the operation for her hip replacement. She lost a lot of blood.

C-What? They never told me anything. They never told me she needed a hip operation.

R-I'm sorry. Have a nice day.

With that the receptionist hung up. I can't believe what she just told me. Tears streaming down my eyes, I walked out my room and made my way to Aston's room. He should be up, its Monday. "Aston." I called as I knocked on the door. He opened it almost immediately only in jogging bottoms. Even though I was upset I still noticed what a nice body he had.

He didn't say anything but hugged me. I cried into his bare chest as he squeezed me tighter. "It's ok. Shh." he whispered, rubbing my back. I pulled away and stared into his eyes.

"She's gone." I whispered as a tear rolled down his cheek.

"I'm so sorry." he kissed my cheek and hugged me again. "Come on. I'll make you some breakfast."

He held my hand and we walked downstairs. We reached the kitchen and sat on a chair. "They didn't even tell me she was going to have an operation on her hip. She died during the operation of loss of blood. I called the hospital today." I said, still crying as Aston placed a plate with eggs on toast on it.

"That's not right. They should have told you." he said, sitting opposite me and gazing into my eyes.

"At the end of the convocation, the receptionist had the cheek to say 'have a nice day', like I'm going to have a nice day now." I said, calming down slightly. "I've lost all my family. I'm all alone, Aston. I only have you and Lily. What if I lose you too?" The thought of losing the, now, two most important things in my life made me cry more.

"You'll never lose me or Lily. We will always be here for you." he said, rubbing my hand.

"Charlie, what's up?" Siobhan asked as she hugged me.

"I had a missed call from the hospital and I called them back. Granny died during an operation for a hip replacement as she lost a lot of blood, but they never told me she was having an operation and the receptionist told me and said 'have a nice day'." I cried again.

"Oh, hunny. Don't worry. You have a loving family here. Aston loves you, I love you like my own daughter and Lily loves you. Don't feel down." she kissed my forehead and Aston rubbed my hand again.

"I'm going to get dressed now." I said quietly. I made my way up the stairs. I looked at the time on my phone, 7:15am. I got a shower and dried myself, putting my hair in a ponytail and put my uniform on. I texted Lily quickly:

To Lily💋: Hey, I gotta tell u somthin wen we get 2 schl. Lv u loads, dont leave me xxx

From Lily💋: I Lv u 2 bestie. U can tell me anything, wat r besties 4. I will never ever leave you, c ya later then xxx

I ran downstairs to see my amazing boyfriend, it feels so good to call Aston my boyfriend, in his uniform smiling at me. "Shall we go?" He whispered as he hugged me and a tear fell down my cheek.

"Yeah." I sniffed as he wiped the tear away with his school tie. I smiled slightly and we walked out the door. "JJ is going to have a field day now."

"Not if I have anything to do with it." Aston said, anger in his voice.

"What are you going to do?"

"If he says or does anything I'll make him sorry."

"Ast, please don't hurt him. I know he's a jerk but I don't want anyone to get hurt." I said, stopping in front of him and pushing his chest slightly.

"Ok, but I will get hi back one day." he said through gritted teeth.

We arrived at our favourite place, sarcasm, and I saw Lily who I immediately ran to and cried on her shoulder as I hugged her. "Hun, what's up?" She asked.

"Granny's dead." I cried. Lily said nothing but hugged me tighter.

"I'm so sorry, Charlie." she whispered.

"They didn't even tell me she was having an operation. She died of loss of blood and she was having the operation for a hip replacement." I softly cried. I let go of Lily and Aston hugged me.

"Oh Charlie. I'm so so sorry. You still have Ast and I. Never doubt us or think you will lose us because you won't!" She said, sternly.

"Well, I have some good news." I said, trying to forget how sad I was.

"See it isn't all bad then." Lil said, rubbing my arm.

"Aston and I are together." my smile got even wider as did Aston's.

"Aw, I knew you liked Charlie." she said, hitting Aston's arm slightly.

"Well, well, well, look what the traitor dragged to school." oh great, here we go.

"JJ, not now." Aston said.

"Oh, I know what's happened." JJ smirked.

"Please. Just go." I begged him but he wouldn't.

"Now you have no family to protect you. Now your 'Billy no family'." he chuckled as tears fell down my cheeks again. "Come on Ast, you don't wanna hang around with her do you?"

"Actually," Ast began, pulling me closer to him. "We are together and if you can't except that then your not a true friend."

"Well, you can have her. Choosing some girl over your best mate."

"She is my best friend and my girlfriend and I wouldn't change her for anything." and with that JJ left us.

"Just ignore him. I love you for who you are and never change no matter what anyone says." Ast is too cute and sweet.
