Captured.
It wasn't an easy fight. It was a long and hard fought one that you tried to keep him safe.Despite being invaded of ice, Cro could still communicate with you through feeling.
Somehow he can move around and even do things a normal person could.
Telepathically, you had a strong connection to the marmot.
And for years it's stayed mostly platonic as he couldn't be intimate with you obviously. Now, after a long chase of hide and seek with the army of the scientist, they had taken cro away.
But not before you screaming to not be parted from your beloved. One soldier took pity, and reluctantly brought you aboard the helicopter in the shipping container that they placed Cro in.
Tears falling from your eyes, you scooted yourself as close as you could to the ice block that kept Cro in place.
'You put up a good fight, and I'm sorry I had to be in the way of your safety.... You should of never tried to hide me in the first place..'Cro spoke through your head.
How can he even say that? Or even just think that you. His partner. Just abandon him when even he was in trouble?
"Don't be stupid, Cro. I'm never going to leave your side. Don't forget that we're in this together!"
You spoke, pressing a finger against the ice to where his lips were just inches away.
"Because I love you."
You whisper. And slouched back down and hugged the ice once more, closing your eyes as you could imagine yourself being comforted by the marmot as you did with him.Soon enough, The helicopter had landed and the container that had you and Cro had roughly dropped to the ground right after.
It woke you from your slumber, frantically looking around and almost put into a panic as you had almost forgotten where you were.
'Calm (y/n). We're here.' You could hear Cro say.
"I'll stay strong." Was all you said as the walls of the container had suddenly come tumbling down.Around you was an army of soldiers and in front of you and Cro was an orange mammal with frizzy and spiky hair, with a big smile on his face. Dressed in a white lab coat and a pair of goggles.
"Oh? And who is this?" His smile subsided slightly as he asked his apprentice beside him.
"Partner of the subject, believed to be brought onboard to help keep the subject at bay, while we conduct the mission and start the experiment." The apprentice droned over to you giving an observant glance.
"Experiment? What are you going to do with him?!" You cry, only to be shot down with a slap to the face by a solider beside you.
"Tsk, I really hope you know it's very rude to speak without being spoken to, if not that will have to be a problem that will have to be adjusted. But you seem like a smart kid, aren't you?"
You held your cheek that the solider has struck.
It was probably the hardest anyone had hit you before.
So much that it made you want to start crying again.
"And stop with that crying! God! I don't have time for subjects to cry over the littlest things! The whole time you've been in that container, you've been just crying your little eyes out huh? Crying that 'oh my love Cro. I couldn't save you~"
The scientist mocked and taunted you.
But to your confusion, how did he know you and Cro were having a conversation? Was he watching you two the whole time?
You swallowed a lump in your throat and kept your head down.
Maybe. If you just ignored the mocking, he would just leave it alone.
Next, the scientist had his guards bring Cro into a machine right before you and him.
Automatically you were concerned, and the scientist noted this.
"Don't worry, this will only hurt a lot."
He cackled, as you put your hands to your face, and ran towards the machine, only for the scientist to have enforcements hold you back.
"What are you going to do to him?!" You cried. Struggling against the strong hold of the soldiers that held your arms back.
"Just some minor adjustments are required before major tests. You'll love this one" He winked at you.
At this point you're a sobbing mess,
"Please... just leave him alone...."With a switch of a button, there were long metal walls along the room where they put the marmot.
They started to turn a bright red and the wave of heat and light had started to melt the ice block that encased Cro.
He was harshly thrown to the ground by the force of gravity.
"Cro!!" You screamed.
You threw yourself to the glass that Cro had been in.
The guards had let go of you for the time being.
You kneeled to his level at the glass, Cro was drenched in his former ice shield.
The water had weighed more on his hair that kept his eyes hidden.
He crawled to where you were at the window.
Tears fallen from your face, your hand pressed against the glass.
He stared into you. Weak to his surroundings, after thousands of years he had forgotten how to make of it.
He shakily lifted his hand to match yours.
As he did, you could feel your heart jump in your chest.
One of his eyes could be barely seen though his drenched, auburn hair, but you could see that he was trying to talk to you through your head, but everything was silent.
