AJ's pov.

After a few weeks, Arizona was due to have her first prosthetic fitting. Stressful wasn't even the right word for it. She was being a complete bitch towards Callie. I felt so incredibly sorry for her but Callie explained she didn't want Arizona to blame Alex for cutting her leg off so Callie willingly took the blame. The day of her first fitting I was taking her in and had to make sure nobody saw her, definitely easier said than done. We nearly bumped straight into Derek and Meredith. Luckily I managed to hold back so they didn't see us. I got her into the room and waited with her for the specialist to come for her appointment.

AJ. So... Do you want me to hang about with you?

Arizona. Not really. As soon as he gets here you can go.

AJ. I don't mind staying...

Arizona. I said you can go!

AJ. Right, okay.

Did I forget to mention she is a bitch to me still as well? I have lost count of the number of times I have apologised to her about just leaving, I don't think she is ever going to fully forgive me. As soon as the specialist got there I went down to the cafeteria for some breakfast. I skipped it this morning as I was running late. I sat with my pancakes and coffee minding my own business when Derek came over and sat opposite me.

AJ. Can I help you, Dr Shepherd?

Derek. You know you can call me Derek, AJ... I just wanted to update you on Amelia.

AJ. How is she? Can I see her yet?

Derek. About that, she has asked that you visit her this week. She needs to tell you something.

AJ. Is it bad?

Derek. I don't know what it is.

AJ. Oh, okay. When can I go?

Derek. Visiting hours is 1 pm - 3 pm.

AJ. Everyday?

Derek. Yes.

AJ. Then why didn't you tell me that before? She's been in there nearly a month.

Derek. And we didn't tell you so you both had a chance to recover...

AJ defensively. I am recovered, I've been clean for a year and 3 months, that's 457 days to be exact.

Derek. Okay AJ, calm down.

AJ. I am going to see her today. It's my only day off and my sister would rather me not be about.

Derek. Okay.

Oh my God, that man angers me. I can't believe him. I had to pop up to see Arizona before I left to see Amelia. As I walked into the prosthetic room Arizona was stood up but turned and stumbled over. Luckily I managed to catch her before she hit the ground.

Arizona. What are you doing back here?

AJ. Lucky I did otherwise you would've fallen on your ass.

I laughed slightly and notice a small smile appear on her face.

AJ. I just come to see what time you will be done?

Arizona. I'm not sure, why?

AJ. I'm going to see Amelia, visiting hours end at 4.

Arizona. Do you think that's a good idea.

AJ. Don't you start.

Arizona. Okay... Sorry. Umm... I'll message you when I'm about done.

AJ. Thanks, Zona. See you soon. Go careful okay. No bruised asses today.

Arizona smiled. Oh, shut up.

Yes, I got 2 smiles out of her in the space of 15 minutes, that's progress. I kissed her cheek and left the room. Not too much later my cab arrived at the rehab centre. I decided before I went inside to have a cigarette, all of a sudden I felt so nervous. It had been nearly a month and the last time we saw each other we had sex. It just feels weird. It shouldn't feel weird, right?

When I went inside I was met by a grumpy looking lady.

AJ. Hey, I'm here to visit Amelia Shepherd.

Amanda. name?

AJ. Umm, AJ Robbins.

Amanda. Here's your ID badge, sit over there someone will be over to take you down to her room shortly.

AJ. Thanks.

The wait seemed to take forever. Then I was met by a very happy looking man.

Nate. Hi, I'm Nate, I'll take you down to see Amelia now. How are you today?

AJ. Oh, thank you. Umm, I'm good thanks.

Nate. Okay, follow me... Okay... Here we go. Now looking at the time you have 40 minutes until visiting hour is up.

AJ. Okay, thanks.

I took a deep breath before entering the room. God, she looked so unwell. She had dark bags under her eyes and her hair was filthy. She looked up at me then turned away.

AJ. Amy...

Amelia. You came.

AJ. Derek said you needed to talk to me. I would've come sooner but he didn't tell me when I could visit.

Amelia. I knew he wouldn't. But your here now.

AJ. What is it you needed to speak to me about, I'm sorry I haven't got long.

Amelia. Umm... This is kinda hard to tell you.

AJ. Amy, you can tell me anything.

Amelia. I'm transferring to the LA clinic.

AJ. What? Why?

Amelia. I'm pregnant... About 9 weeks. I need to be close to the guys in LA.

AJ. Oh... I don't know what to say, are you keeping it?

Amelia. Of course, I am. It's Ryan's baby and he is gone, this is the last part of him.

AJ. I'm happy for you... Amy... I better go. Zona is at the hospital and I need to meet her when she gets out.

Amelia. Please don't leave... I've missed you.

AJ. Amy... I, I, I just don't want you to go to LA. I wish you could stay here... I, I, oh I'm going. I'll come to see you before you leave... Okay?

Amelia. Please, promise me you will.

AJ. I will, I promise.

I left the rehab centre not knowing how to feel, I was happy for her but after what I went through with my miscarriage it's all too close to home. I got a cab back to the hospital and met Arizona, she seemed a lot happier.

AJ. How's it going?

Arizona. I walked, AJ. He just took a cast of my leg so they can make my prosthetic.

AJ. That's great

Arizona. How was Amelia?

AJ. She is moving back to LA. She is pregnant.

Arizona. Oh, are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?

AJ. Not really. Are you finished now?

Arizona. Yeah, should be.

AJ. Can we go back to yours and watch a film until Callie gets home?

Arizona. Of course.

We got back to their apartment and I helped her onto the couch. I made us both a cup of coffee then we cuddled up together under the blanket and watched the movie until we both fell asleep. Callie came in and gently woke me up so I could go home.
