Shepherd pov

Today is the day, AJ can now officially be discharged, but I would like her to stick around to continue her weekly PT sessions. We also need to sort out her payment preference for her medical care. I know she can't afford it and I was really hoping Arizona would have grown a pair and actually spoken to her while she was here, maybe she could use her insurance. I thought firstly I would see what Arizona would say before we plan anything else. I don't want to spook AJ and her do a runner.

Derek. Dr Robbins can I have a quick word please?

Arizona. Sure how can I help? Do you need a consult?

Derek. No. Umm... this is pretty awkward but your sister is due to be discharged and doesn't have any medical insurance and can't afford to pay anything so I was wondering if we could use your insurance?

Arizona. Excuse me, what?

Derek. Can AJ use your medical insurance to cover her expenses?

Arizona. Have you spoken to her about this. She won't want my charity.

Derek. No I haven't,

Arizona. You know what just do it anyway. Just don't tell her it was from me.

Derek. Thank you Dr Robbins.

I had already contacted Joe from the bar to come to collect AJ, I headed over to the nurses desk to collect her discharge papers before heading to her room. As usual Jackson was sat talking to her on his day off.

Derek. AJ, I have some good news, here are your discharge papers, you are good to go, but I need you to remain in the city to carry on your PT.

AJ. Umm okay, thank you Dr Shepherd.

Jackson. That's fantastic news. I've just got to quickly run to do a few things, but I'll be back before you leave.

Derek. Here are your discharge papers. I would still like you to come in once a week for your PT sessions.

AJ. But Dr Shepherd how am I supposed to pay for all of this.

Derek. Don't worry about that, it's all been covered. So get your stuff together, take a shower, whatever you need and you can go in an hour.

AJs pov

What the hell, that doesn't seem right. My medical bill must cost thousands of dollars, who would have covered it? I mean I'm not complaining. I went to have my shower then got dressed in some clothes that Joe had brought in for me, he did good it was a pair of jeans, vest top and my favorite flannel shirt. I wasn't sure what to do now. Normally I would skip town but I'm not sure my body is strong enough to do that. I still have my PT sessions to follow. Maybe I should stick around for a little longer. Well just until I'm back to full health. I was brought out of my thoughts by Callie entering my room, we had got closer this past week, everyday she would sneak me outside so I could have a cigarette, a coffee and of course some poundcake. She was back with my sister and apparently Arizona had come around to the fact she was going to be a mom to Callies baby.

Callie. So does this mean goodbye? I'm going to miss our coffee dates.

AJ laughing. For now yes, I still have to come in for my PT, so we could go for one when I come back for that. Plus I only live across the street.

Wow I actually said I live somewhere. That felt weird.

Callie. Okay your going to stick around then... wow I never noticed your necklace before. Arizona has the same one.
