It felt strange to be back home. The fact, that his mother had gone into rehabilitation now, did also add to the fact. He could not see her for the time being, which triggered an uneasy feeling in TigerJ, given they grew so close over the past month and even closer over the past few weeks.
He put his bag down and looked around his home, every room was empty, hadn't been touched in a while. His room was exactly the same as he had left it, with empty beer and soju bottles all over the place. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair before turning on the light in his room and starting to clean it up. At least he was feeling better, not good but the throbbing headaches had subsided. One bottle after the other went into the garbage bag, which he had fetched from the kitchen before starting to make his room more presentable.

The room felt empty, very empty, and cold. He had spent the last few months as if in a trance, cut off from the world, and now everyday life was crashing down on him. He would have to go back to school eventually and deal with the other students' questions about his whereabouts. He really didn't feel like it, even more because of the looks he would inevitably get. Jungkook would prefer to stay here, in his room, to keep himself out of the real world. But he had to go, sooner or later, whether he wanted to or not.

Jungkook opened the curtains, which were blocking the view of his window for a couple of weeks now, stripped his bed and gathered the dirty laundry from the floor. After putting the laundry in the washing machine, he made his bed again and then sat down at his computer to see how much material he had missed from his classes.

It was quite a bit he had to catch up on, but he had set a goal of at least three hours of studying for college, he needed to get this degree, it was all that should count for him now. The others were a few steps ahead of him due to his hospital stay and he didn't want to stay another year in school while the others would've already started working.
After a short time, Jungkook already noticed that he was having a hard time studying, his head was buzzing and he had to take a short cigarette break. Everything was really strange, it was as if everything that had happened before this fatal fight was so unreal, as if from another world, a world with which he actually wanted nothing to do with anymore; at least for now.

Jungkook sighed and dragged on his cigarette, lost in thought. The sun was just setting, dipping the world in a soft golden glow. It felt peaceful and very alone. Jungkook missed the company of the nurses, doctors and orderlies, he had never been alone in the hospital, never had to deal much with his thoughts or his emotional world. But now he was alone, alone with his thoughts, alone with his feelings, alone with himself. And enduring himself was not exactly his greatest strength.

After smoking the cigarette, he went back to his desk, sat down and stared at his school work. And before he knew it, an hour had passed in which he had only stared at the papers in front of him. Jungkook decided that there was no point in studying that evening and cleaned up his desk. He wanted to study, he really did, but there was no room in his mind for new things right now. There were other things that needed to be settled first.

That night Jungkook slept fitfully, the beeping of the monitors, the footsteps in the corridor outside his door were missing, also the soft light of the night illumination in his sickroom was missing; and it was quiet, so eerily quiet in this empty house. Despite all this, he eventually fell asleep and was drawn into a world of nightmares and wild fantasies.
