Seven months earlier...

Another boring day for Zain. He knew that as soon as he stepped in the station. The same faces, the same problems every day. Nothing special. Everything was just spinning in circles. He'll come to his workplace, have a coffee and wait. Maybe one day something changes.
His father was not pleased with his choice of work. He wanted him to stay to live with his family and continue the family tradition. But Zain decided to get out of that crazy house. Crazy house, crazier family. His father was a great businessman. He owned a chain of his hotels. He has the dark side which he skilfully concealed. Zain knew it. His mother, Suraiya was a wonderful wife and mother. She kept the family together. She was obedient wife to her husband and devoted mother to her kids. He had a brother and sister. Fahad, his older brother, was itself weird. He married a women he didn't love and cheated on her. He married, again. And now lives torn between two of them and every day cursing his life. His younger sister, Barkat has always been favorite kid and most spoiled one. Travel the world and parties. She's never home.
That was the reason why Zain decided to become an inspector. When he got his job, he bought a house and moved there. He didn't want to be a servent to his own father. Zain decided to be someone else. He visit family on weekends and they spend holidays together. But he had his life away from that crazy family.
He went into his office and sat down.
"I'll need a little peace, before..."
"Good morning, Zain. How it's going, buddy?"
Wonderful. He couldn't even finish his thoughts and they were already there.
"Good morning, Ali and Karan. What do you need?"
"Woah. Take it easy. We didn't come to talk. Boss asked you to come to her office as soon as you come here. There's some good news for you."-Ali said.
"She said there's a good news?"-Zain asked suspiciously.
"No, but I think it's a good news."
"How do you know it's good if boss didn't said it?"-Karan turned around to face Ali.
"I just assumed. Why are you even here? Don't you have other things to do?"
"No, I don't. We work together, you idiot."-Karan snapped.
"OK. Enough. Don't argue anymore. I don't want a headache in the morning."-Zain interjected. "Where's the boss?"
"In her office."-said Alu and Karan.
"OK. I'm going to see what she needs. See you on our morning coffee."
"Yeah. See you."
"Just as I thought. A long day awaits me."-thought Zain and shook his head.
He came in front of the office and knocked. His boss was the only women in their department. Everyone respected her. Zain thought that the police is not place for a women. Maybe yes on West but not here.
"Good morning, boss. You needed me?"-he asked right away from the door.
"Ah, Zain. There you are. Good morning. Come In, please. I have some good news for you."- Anushka smiled when she saw him.
Good news? So, Ali was right.
"There is good news for me, also?"-asked Zain.
"Of course. Maybe this will be difficult to accept, but soon one girl will be here."
"Okay. Why would that be hard for me to accept it?"
"Because she will be your new partner."
At the word 'partner' he paused and looked at her. For the first time as he entered her office. He wasn't ready for a partner. He couldn't again tie for a person and eventually lose it. He shook his head from the pictures that occurred before his eyes and suppressed tears.
"I'm not ready. Not yet."
"Zain, she is coming and she will be your partner. I don't want to hear any 'no'. You can't live in past, Zain. You have to move on. This is final. She is coming in seven days and you will be responsible for her. You will show her the city and show her everything she needs to know."
"I'm not a tourist guide to show her the city."
"And she is not tourist. She is one of the best detectives in Liverpool. And now she's coming to work with us for a year. Make sure you get her a memorable year. You can leave now."- Anushka finished and showed him towards the door.
"Of course. This will be unforgettable year for her. I promise."-sweared Zain full of anger and bitterness. He didn't expect this. He didn't want to recant the suffering and pain. Not again.
