Over again

Chapter XXXIII

'Zain!!!'-Aaliya screamed running to him.

Zain was laying on the street, blood was flooding down his face. The girl who's car hit him ran out of the car. She was standing there, looking the man who was lying there.

Aaliya somehow came to him and fall down on her knees. She was losing the man she loves more than her life. He's the only man who ever saw the real her and now she was losing him. Aaliya couldn't to move, she was only repeating his name. She heard the an ambulance siren. Medics lifted him off the street and entered the ambulance. Somehow she got up off the street and asked a medic to engage her in the car with him. The man turned to her. He saw the love for this man and let her come in.

An hour later the intensive care ran entered Aaliya's parents. Zain was fine, he had a fracture of the shin bone. He fainted because of the shock but they put him in intensive due to lack of oxygen. He was sedated and asleep. Aaliya watched him through the window. She didn't have the courage to get in. She was lost in thoughts when she felt the familiar hand on her shoulder. She turned and saw John. He looked at her with his blue eyes, and she felt as if he can see through her.

Quickly she turned her head to the other side.

"How long have you been here?"-she asked him.
"Long enough to see your struggle."
She looked at him again. John took her hand a lead her to sit on the nearest chair.
"Aaliya, I know you long enough to know what you feel, how you feel. You still love him and you don't wven want to hide it. I don't blame you. You two have a past together, you have a beautiful son and you deserve to be with him. I won't ask you to not go, that wouldn't be fair. But please take some time before you leave. I want to spend some morw time with you. You know ny feelings and I won't blame you if you leave me. But please be some more time here."

Aaliya again looked at his blue, now full of tears eyes. She felt as if the two lakes are about to fall down his cheeks. Before she could see his tears, she hugged him
"I won't leave you. Not yet. All I want now is Zain to wake up. I need to talk to him."-she separated from John. "I told him about Zaid."
"What? When and how?"
"Today. While I was in park with Zaid. Zain came and we talked and I told him. That's why he ran off of the park and got hit. Maybe if I didn't told him, this wouldn't happen."
"Aaliya, don't blame yourself. I know you. You would never hurt anyone."
"But I did, John. I hurt Zain"
"It was an accident. Please don't bkame yourself. Everything will be fine. He will be fine."

She knew he was saying the truth, but the pain she felt in her lungs was saying something else. She never wanted to see Zain hurt but the pain she saw in his eyes when he found out that Zaid is his son was unbearable. Aaliya was sure Zain was happy for that but she was hiding his son, and all he wanted was to be with them. She took that away from him. Now was time foe her to change it all, to make everything perfect.

As soon as Zain wokr up, she asked doctor to go and meet him. He allowed her but asked her to not talk about the things that can upset him. She accepted everything, just to see him.

She walked in his room. Zain was laying on the bed, looking through the window. The day was beautiful. Sunny and hot.
"Zain?"-Aaliya called him
He turned his head to look at her
"Hey"-she smiled at him
"What do you want?"
"Zain.. I came to see you. To talk to you. I have so much to tell you."
"I don't want to talk to you."-he turned his head away.
"Zain don't be stubborn. It's me. Your Aaliya."
"My Aaliya died two years ago. You are the stranger to me. Please leave my room, Miss."
Aaliya was shocked. She didn't saw this coming.
"Zain please. I need to..."
"I said leave!.... Miss!"
Aaliya took stap back and slowly turned her back to him. She headed to door.
"One more thing. Bring your son here tomorrow. I want to do a DNA test. I need to be sure he's my son"

She closed the door behind her and let the tears flaw down her cheeks. He didn't believe her. He didn't believe that Zaid is his son. John was standing there and in silence was looking at her. When she opened her eyes, he approached her.

"Aaliya, don't cry. Go and take Zaid here. Do the DNA test today. Don't wait tomorrow. Let him take Zaid in the room and let him be with the boy alone. Prove him that his accusations are false."

She went home and brought Zaid with her. An hour later, nurse brought Zain in the laboratory. She handed the boy to Zain and asked nurse to be with the boy while the test is done. She will wait for them. Fifteen minutes later, Zain came out with Zaid in his arms. He handed the boy back Aaliya.

"When the results will be out?"-he asked.
"Tomorrow morning. As you are leaving the USA soon we will finish it as soon as possible."-nurse answered.
"Okay. Thank you."-Zain thanked the nurse and turned to Aaliya. "I hope you will be here tomorrow, Miss with your son. Let's see if you said the truth."

He was looking at her waiting for an answer but she said nothing. Aaliya turned her back to him and left the hall carrying her son. She didn't turn back to look at him. Zain was praying to turn back but she didn't. He closed his eyes when the elevator door closed and she disappeared. The nurse returned him to his room and helped him to lay back in the bad.

Aaliya put Zaid to sleep and went down to the kitchen. There was her dinner served and her mother was waiting for her.
"Aaliya? What happened today? What Zain wanted?"
"He doesn't believe me that Zaid is his son. So he asked me to do DNA test. I did it. I have nothing to hide, mom. I'll prove him that I never cheated. Ever. He was and still is the only man in my life. I don't know how he doesn't remember that we are married. We are still married mom. He never divorced me and I'm still his Aaliya. You know mom, I wanted to move on. John is a great man, good friend and good father. He accepted my son as his own. But whenever he comes close to me, I see Zain only. He is my life. The man who betrayed me is still my life."
"Aaliya I know his parents gave us so much pain. But darling he isn't like his parents. He's different. I know he would never take your son away from you. I saw it in his eyes. He is a good man. Give him another chance."
"Mom I want it too but he doesn't think the way I do. He doesn't want me back."
"Give him some time. I'm sure he will come to you. He will take you home again."

In the morning Aaliya got the call from hospital. The results were done and they wanted her to come there because Zain wanted the results to be opened while they all aew together. She asked Shabana to take care of Zaid and went to hospital.
After a while, the doctor came to Zain's hospital room and Aaliya walked in with John.
"I guess you're the mother of the boy?"-doctor asked looking at Aaliya.
"Yes I am."
"Okay. I would love you to open the results."
"No. Please hive it to Zain. He should open it and you read it."
Doctor did as she asked. Zain opened it and gave the paper to this doctor. He was looking at it for a while and then smiled.
"Zain, congratulations. You are Zaid's father."
Zain just looked at Aaliya and smiled at doctor.
"Thank you."
Aaliya left the room. Now he knows the truth and she doesn't have nothing to say. She proved him wrong.

Two weeks later, Aaliya
went to kindergarten for her son. The girl who was looking after kida informed that the boy's father had picked up the boy and took him home. Aaliya was confused. John usually called her when he pick up Zaid.
"Oh Ma'am, he left something for you."
The girl handed her the white paper. Aaliya opened it:

"I took my son home with me. You were with him for a year and a half, you hid my son from me. Now it's my turn. He's safe. After all, he's with his father. If you want to see him, come to India."
