Chill

Hi!

A chill ran down Hermione's spine. While she loved the look of the sun bouncing off the freshly fallen snow, it was considerably chilly. She brushed her hands together and brought them to her mouth. She hastily let out a breath into them. Why had she waited out here? Could she not have just sat inside by the door? Though, inside it isn't much better. Most students walk the halls with a winter coat at about mid-September.

Finally, she felt the familiar tug of her sleeve. Soft gloves covered her eyes. Immediately she knew.

"Guess who?" She said so gently. Hermione giggled and reached for the hands covering her face.

"Love, I can hear your voice." She answered with certainty.

She felt the hands that covered her face being slid down to her waist. Pansy wrapped her hands around her and squeezed her close enough for Hermione to feel her breath on her neck.

"Hey," Pansy whispered to her. "You ready to go?" She slowly slid her arms away from Hermione and stepped next to her. Almost instinctually, they went to grab the other's hand.

"With you? Anywhere." Hermione rested her head onto Pansy's shoulder, only for it to be shaken off. "You sap." Slowly they walked towards Hogsmeade.

Last-minute Christmas shopping. As plain and unromantic as it seemed, she couldn't imagine anything more romantic for a first date.
